Alumni directories

TKE IHQ have any plans to make one anytime soon? I seen alot of old ones but nothing modern. That thing could come in handy when getting in contact with alumni.

they have their databases, but with everything else they have going on, they can maintain it, but if people don't tell them their new info, they kinda get lost by choice...

as far as an online database, i believe that was ruled out more because of security reasons. Making a members only section for everyone to have access to would pose a very serious security issue for their server, and everyone on it too... imagine all those usernames and passwords, no matter how sound the security behind the program is, it's only as secure as the passwords people use.

i personally don't think at this time that an online database with useful information and accessable to all tekes is a possibility first from security, and second, a project that large may take more staff time to update and maintain. just think about the lost password requests...

A database available to like the chapter prytanis and key volunteers might be a possibility, but that's still alot of security issues.

I was talking in book form. I seen them up to the 80's then it seems to have stopped.

you can get an excel sheet if you give them a call, and they will send out printouts, but they tend to prefer sending the database for obvious reasons since the printout can get very large and use up alot of paper and postage.

I really don't think they would go for a book form anymore since people move around quite a bit these days, and with so many people graduating, it would get pretty cumbersome to print out all those copies every year or couple of years...

seems alot of things changed in the 80's...
