LCA brother at UGA passes away
It is with sadness to let everyone know of the condition of the Lambda Chi Alpha brother Starr who fell out of a truck recently and went into a coma. He died on this past friday. His funeral was yesterday at my mothers church. This truely a great loss for his family and fellow brother. My condolences go out his family and friends.

mourning
ALL of USCaiken Lambda Chi Alpha brothers are mourning. I did not have the chance to meet this brother at UGA since I attend usca but after talking to friends on campus here that knew about him I realize the great loss. Our prayers go out to his family and the brothers of his zeta.

We have tragically lost a great brother ZAX |
My thoughts are with his family and Brothers.
This website displays the news story where I first heard about the accident: http://www.onlineathens.com/stories/...30421030.shtml Always the advisor, I think we should all take a moment and share this story with our Chapters. There are number of things to be learned here: First off, seatbelts, seatbelts, seatbelts...I know we have all probably ridden "loose" in the back of a pickup, but age, wisdom and experience tell us how unsafe that is. Secondly, we should always err on the side of caution. The cost of a little embarrassment for something that turns out to be a minor injury or the cost of a little bad press is nothing compared to the cost of a tragic death of a member. in ZAX, Eric ------------------------------------------------ Eric D. Loss of a brother
We are all diminished by his passing. I had not yet met this young man and I have lost the opportunity to do so. His brothers at Georgia have lost him and must deal with the tremendous emotions that they now encounter. Brothers yet unknown will never know him. Yet all this pales in compairason to what his family must endure.
The passing of a brother is not easy, and it is far more difficult on the undergraduates who have not had the opportunity to face these emotions before. If I could assist the brothers at Georgia in this process, if I could somehow alleviate in some small way the pain that they are experiencing, I would do so. The most painful thing that I have ever done within the fraternity is attend the funeral of an undergarduate brother. The shock and anguish and pain apparent on the faces and souls of his undergraduate brothers was palpable. If I could have done anything to ease them into the future without their / our brother, I would have done so. I attended the service with a member of the GHZ who lived in the area and we were both left speechless. neither of us could put into words what we felt. John Gezelius California, '78 |
Does anyone have an address of the Chapter that we lost a brother in. We are planning on sending them a card or something.
