Credit Bureau Info
Effective July 1, 2003 the four major credit bureaus in the US will be allowed to release your credit information, mailing addresses, phone numbers, etc. to anyone who requests it.
If you would like to 'opt out' of this release of your information call and follow these directions: Once the message starts, you'll chose option #2 (even though option #1 refers to this e-mail), then do option #3 - (it is a long wait before you get to option #3...think they want you to give up). Be sure to listen closely, the first option is only for a two-year period. Make sure you wait until they prompt for the option #3, which opts you out forever! *I really do know how to spell credit. Can one of the moderators fix that for me? Otherwise it's going to bug me as long as it's on the front page. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE'VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED AND HOODWINKED! |
Don't call the number, it's a hoax. It's not associated with any credit bureau. A memo was circulated at work about it. The "opt out" numbers are to keep telemarketers from calling your home.
