Just wondering if any of ya'll have or know anyone with an ADP tattoo.

I'm personally scared of needles, but I met an ADPi from the Gamma Chi chpter who had a tatoo of a lion with violets on her lower back :) It was cute.. I wish I had the guts to do something like that!

Do you have an ADPi tatoo TechADPi? Or maybe thinking of getting one?

If I ever got the guts to do it, I think a small diamond would be cute :)

One of our older sisters got a tatoo of a lion on her shoulder blade. And one of the girls in my class got violets, she wants to add on to it and put the violets in a diamond shape. Personally I've never been able to find a tatoo I could live or place on my body that i would want to get a tatoo. But if I was to get anything I think violets would be cute.

No I do not have an ADPi tattoo, but I do have a butterfly tattoo on my lower back. Our last president got the letters on the inside of her ankle. They were white outlined in blue with two stars on either end of the letters (Like our badge). They were yellow outlined in blue. I thought it was really cute. Our chapter presidents have a tradition of getting a violet tattoo once they take office. Anyways, I want to get an ADPi related tattoo, but am not sure of what to get.:)

I do, in fact I want to get this tatoo. My sisters at U of A were the ones I saw with it. What they had done was the diamond with the pi in the middle of it.

Please, please, please think twice before getting an ADPi tatoo - ESPECIALLY in an area where it can be seen on a day to day basis!

I say this as someone who interviews people daily. The truth is, someone without a visible tatoo will be hired prior to someone without one. Call it discrimination that you like, but it's a fact of life.

Secondly, there was a woman who had the crest tatoo'd on her ankle, then decided to deactivate. There were some serious problems as to who would pay for the de-abrasion.

I have to agree to some extent with honeychile. If you are getting a tatoo, think about where you are getting it and how noticable it will be. I interview people on a daily basis as well and some tatoos can be distracting. If you do get one, be sure it is somewhere that you can cover if you want to. You might also keep in mind how it will look as you progress through life. My biological sister got a dolphin (she is a tri-delt) on her belly and it looked a little strange while she was pregnant. Just some things to think about.

I personally don't have an ADPi tattoo (although I'm tempted), but it seemed to be an epidemic in my chapter for about a year. Most of them were on their lower back and were either violets or diamonds. One girl got in trouble with standards for drinking after she got the letters tattooed on. After that, no one got letters, just symbols. :D

just read through this thread and thought I'd add my story here.
This week I went with a friend of mine to have her sorority tattoo lasered off. The process is painful and expensive and many times a "shadow" of the tattoo never really leaves your skin.
My friend had been president of her NPC sorority (not ADPi) while she was in college, and she and almost her entire executive board got either letters or crests tattood on their legs or shoulder blades.
So now its ten years later and of the sisters she keeps in contact with, all of them have either gotten them removed or are saving the money to do so.
This friend of mine is now a Senior VP of a major PR agency in New York. A few years ago she was taken aside by her mentor and told to always cover the tattoo, it simply didn't look professional. Harsh words, but they were true. (In fact, that tattoo wasn't even particularly attractive, but that's a whole other story.)

Now, I am not against tattoos at all, I actually think they're many times amazing. But they are a very serious decision. Don't just get letters tattooed on yourself in a fit of ADPi love, buy another sweatshirt, or make a donation to the Clasped Hands fund instead.
If you are absolutely dead serious about getting a tattoo, do some research first. Do not go on a whim to a tattoo parlor with your friends, you would spend more effort deciding on a new hair cut. First, I would recommend looking at local tattoo parlors, most have their artists' work on their sites. See which artists work appeals to you. Also, if you see a tattoo you like ask the person where they got it and the name of the artist that created it.
If you are committed to getting a piece of art that represents ADPi, think carefully of our many symbols, think about what each one means to you. I highly recommend getting something that doesn't scream "I Got this tattoo my sophmore year in college!!!"
I would recommend that you choose something that has meaning to you, but remains somewhat enigmatic to a casual observer. (But that's me, I like a little mystery.)
Finally you should consult with your tattoo artist BEFORE you get a tattoo, they should do a preliminary drawing so you can see what you are going to get before it's put on your skin in any permanent way.
Okay, this is the end of my lecture. If I can convince my friend I'm going to try and have her post her "sorority tattoo removal tale" on her GLO's board. (although she's a bit embarrassed about the whole thing, so I don't know.)

I don't have an ADPi tattoo myself, but I have always thought about having a tattoo. The best advice I got and I can give is: Put the design on your fridge, or somewhere you will see it everyday, and if you still like the design after looking at it for AWHILE then go ahead and get it.

And on another note, I would like to have something on my signature, but since I am new here, I don't know how to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Shannon, click on User CP, and then on User Profile. Scroll down to signature. From there, it's up to you. If you want to use the letters, it's {font=symbol} ADP {/font} but replacing the { } with [ ]. You will want to play around with bold type, color & size, too. Those are done in the same way, {color=blue} ADP {/color}, {b} ADP {/b} and {size=6} ADP {/size}, again, switching to brackets. Put it all together and you have {color=blue}{font=symbol}{size=6}{b} ADP {/size}{/color}{/font}{/b}

With the proper brackets, you get:

You can play with the color (I use www.bagism.com/colormaker), and the font (vivaldi gives that handwriting script look), and make it as personal as you'd like! Good luck!

An ADPi I know got a little violet on her big toe, and it is absolutely adorable! It's easily covered up, as well.
