House Mothers
 

Do any of your chapters have a House Mother? The reason I ask is that our chapter has a House Mother that is about to pass on and we are trying to decide if we want to find another one. I believe that we've had one since we were first established and My concern is whether or not it is Tradition for us to have a House Mother or if its just our chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha that has one.

Actually, she has been sick for almost two years now and only comes by when she can. When she lived in the house, she would come out and sit on the front porch, with a beer in one hand and a Cigar in the other and chill with everyone. My understanding of a House Mother is someone who is supposed to be around so that when we do have parties and such., then the girls have a female Chaperone. More often than not, she stayed in her room, unless everyone got really loud and then she would come out and chew some butt.

That is to funny!

The previous Fraternity that I was booted out of had a Great House Mother who taught the young men how to act and dress for the occasion.

When I started the Local BX, we broke the House Mother Rule.

I look back now, that I wish I had not done that.


Now, none of the Greeks Orgs. on campus have house Mothers.:(
