I need help!!!
 

First off, I just want to say hi to all you!! I am new to this group. I have been a DZ at grand valley state university in michigan for the past 2 years and I couldn't love it more. What I am asking you all is some help for some ideas next year. I feel as if my chapter needs to do some more fundraisers. I am looking for any good ideas and any advice on who to get girls wanting to get involved more. I feel as if we dont do enough fundraisers and maybe we would do some more if I got some good ideas that the girls would really want to get involved with. Thanks girls and I hope to hear back from you all on some great ideas!!!

Have you ever thought of hosting a Charity Dinner? You can donate partial proceeds to charity, and keep some for the chapter.

Basically, all you do is arrange with a restaurant to host a dinner there, and hopefully they'll give you a really good deal on the meal. Then you advertise like mad, and sell as many tickets as you can. We've done dinners before at my chapter, and if you've got a good group effort the night can be very very successful.

Depending on where you hold it, the dinner can be a casual affair, or a more formal one. . . another idea is to combine a dinner and silent auction--girls can donate items themselves, or you can get local businesses to donate items to be auctioned off. . . these can make a ton of money.

One of the things I've seen that is kind of cool is a basket auction--each girl is responsible for putting together & decorating a basket--it can have pretty much anything in it. Some baskets are donated from local merchants. Then, you could either have a silent auction by setting them up in the student union during the day and ending the bidding at a certain time, or you could hire a real auction master and auction them off during an event of some kind.

Hey girlie...I"m a DZ from Ferris State and have been now for about 2 years as well :) It's good to see some sisters on here from REgion 6!!!! Anyways, this past fall we did a fundraiser at Cedar Point. I'm not sure if y ou have already done this or not, but it's an awesome way to make money!
I think we made like 2500 in one weekend, you could book for more than one weekend if you had enough girls interested. It isn't a cake walk, but it is a lot of fun. And an awesome bonding exspirience with your sisters.
