democratic candidates

Who are they??

pinkyphimu 04-23-2003 11:25 PM

for what?

The1calledTKE 04-23-2003 11:29 PM

Well the front runners are Kerry of Mass and Edwards of NC

Optimist Prime 04-23-2003 11:34 PM

wasn't that Dean guy one of them?

bethany1982 04-23-2003 11:40 PM

Yes, Howard Dean, the former Gov. of Vermont is running.

Optimist Prime 04-23-2003 11:54 PM

I want a candidate that is Liberal and says "I'm Liberal" not one that says "this might sound Liberal, but..."

bethany1982 04-24-2003 12:01 AM

That will be hard to come by... Dems win the white house by not sounding liberal. If you want a real liberal, perhaps you should consider Carol Moseley Braun or Al Sharpton. Neither has a chance, but they don’t try to cover their liberal ideology. You have plenty of liberals to pick from... Biden, Kerry, Gephardt, Edwards... all qualify if you look at their records. You have to play the game if you want to win.

Let's not forget Bob Graham.

bethany1982 04-24-2003 02:45 AM

Ah yes, Bob Graham, Senator and former FL Gov.

AND....

Gary Heart... LOL... Former Senator from CO.

Wesley Clark, retired Army General.

Dennis Kucinich, Congressman from OH.

Joseph Lieberman, Senator from CT.

I think that rounds out the list of serious candidates. We won't mention the 30 plus other Dems. who have declared.

RedHotChiO 04-24-2003 09:39 AM

You forgot

Senator Carol Moseley Braun

Richard Gephardt

Reverend Al Sharpton

and there are others that I don't remember.

AlphaSigOU 04-24-2003 09:57 AM

Don't forget nor underestimate Hillary Rodham Clinton... she hasn't declared an intent to run, but don't count her out.

bethany1982 04-24-2003 10:40 AM

There are currently 12 major Dems. who have announced their intentions to run for Presidnet. Senator Carol Moseley Braun, Richard Gephardt, Reverend Al Sharpton have all been mentioned. Senator Clinton has repeatedly said that she would not run, but she also said that about the U.S. Senate. At this point, it would be wise for her to wait one more round before running. This whole upcoming election should be fun.

RedHotChiO 04-24-2003 01:49 PM

Hillary Clinton is not running

I'm working up in DC now, and I can almost confirm that this is not true.

Saying one thing while doing another is natural to the Clintons:D

bethany1982 04-24-2003 02:00 PM

Perhaps Senator Clinton could use a good working definition of the word "run."
