Hey all you AOII's! I am new to this whole greek chat thing. But I do have one little favor to ask all you girls. For this upcoming formal rush (fall 2003), I have been put on the committee that has opening night. This year they added a new thing, we have to come up with a skit for all the rushes. I was just wondering if any other chapters have any cute skits they do, or know of.

We do an MTV thing. Basically, there are hosts and we rewrite the lyrics to popular songs and chereogrpah a dance too. The whole chapt participates but we have some special performers. I knwo before that we did a Wizard of Oz thing with a Ruby brick road but I am not sure exactly.

At Ole Miss this is what we have done in the past since I pledge in 1996 and graduated in 2000.


1. Christmas in August skit. They did this when I went through rush. They had fake snow and the skit was about a girl who got the present in the world for Christmas, a bid to AOII. (Or at least that is what I remember of it!) They also served peppermint ice cream which was really cute.

2. The Brady Bunch Skit. They had the Brady Kids on a trip and it was about how Marsha meets a girl and she just so happens to be an AOII from Ole Miss and Marsha and her talk. One of the songs was so fun. "Gonna Pledge A-O, Gonna Pledge A-O, Gonna Pledge A-O, A-O-II." It was to the tune of a Brady Bunch song. And in the end Marsha ends up going to Ole Miss and picking AOII. It was very fun and very colorful when it came to decorations. All of the members wore bright colored sheath dresses.

3. Grease Skit. This is about the "Red Rose Ladies" and the Pink Ladies and how the Pink Ladies are going through and they cannot decide what sorority to join. We changed the songs up from Grease and all of the members wore black full skirts like from the era and white shirts that tied at the waist (so no stomach showed), and then they had to wear either a scarf in their hair or around their neck with keds tennis shoes. It was also very cute. In the end the Pink Ladies love the Red Rose Ladies and go AOII.

4. Now they do something called the, Alpha Awards. I'm sure other chapters do something similar to it. It is like the MTV music awards, only they give awards out to celebrities for things like, philanthropic work, best smile, best grades, stuff like that. I haven't seen the one for this year yet, but I did proof the script and I know it is going to be great.

5. I know some chapters here at Ole Miss do like Disney themed skits, like the Little Mermaid. And one sorority here use to have a "Ho Down" and it was cool with hay to sit on and the girls wore overalls.
