What are the exceptions...

Ladies and Gents,

There are some exceptions that we have a tendency of making when deciding who we will date. What are your exceptions and what will you absolutely not bend the rule on?

An exception:

If a guy has a child and is very responsible, I will still consider dating him.

I will not bend the rule...

...If a guy is not on the same level as me spiritually. He has to, at least, make moves towards being spiritually connected with Christ.

Can't wait to hear your responses...

I will bend:

about the no kids rule - If a woman is handling her business then I can date that

Will not bend:

She must have a spirtual Center

I bend the rules on dating when it comes to age. I used to say I won't date anyone younger than me, but I've made an exception.

I will not bend the rule:

when it comes to someone who does not have relationship with God or who does not respect his mother.

I will not date anyone with kids. With my schedule I find it difficult to get to know the date much less her kid.

I will date folk that don't have a college education. I fact, I'll go out with anyone as long as I think it is stress free. It keeps me grounded and I don't have to put much thought in some of my comments.

I have more...

1) I will not date a guy if he does NOT have a license or if he's doesn't own a car. I know this is going to affect some of the brothas out there, but let me argue my case. Now when I say if he does not own a car, I mean if he's straight up COOL not having any means of transportation. I don't live in a busy city like New York where it's the norm for people to not have cars. In Minnesota, owning a car is a true necessity. I dated this guy once that didn't own a car. At first, I was really hesitant to date this dude...well I was totally convicted that he was triflin' when he told me that the only reason why he won't get a car is because he hates to drive. But everytime I looked around, he would want me to pick him up and take him to point A, B, C, D, etc. To me, that's a sign that the brotha is sorry tail brotha trying to get over.

2) I will not date a guy that says that he won't dicipline his children. See, in my day, I got the beat down by BOTH parents. I don't want my husband to be soft and have an issue with me whipping my kids. He needs to be just as gangsta, if not more gangsta, than me!

3) He has to be a man! If he's a push over, I know that I will take total advantage of him. I want my man to put me in check...have the final say (in some things)...BE A MAN!

Good question! When I say he needs to be a man, I don't expect him to dictate my every move, but when it's important to lay down the line, lay down the line. Did I answer your question???;)

Exceptions and Hard Lines.

Exceptions:

1. If she was of a different race than myself
2. If she was at a different educatonal level as myself
3. If she was at a different career choice than myself

Hard Lines:

1. She must openly profess belief in Jesus Christ as her Savior.

2. She must be more than a mere chruch attendee. She must serve actively and visibly in evangelizing the Gospel through some ministry within the congregation.

3. She must love studying and learning the Word of God through Bible study and through sermons regardless of their level of quality.

4. She must actively push me to pursue greater levels of understanding God's Will in my life.

5. She must habitually support and yearn for us to examine all our problems through Bible study and prayer, not through discussion.

This a great question. Thank you for asking it. :)

An example of a man:

My sister and I went to the Alpha Regional Conference in Chicago. One of our good Alpha friends came with his girlfriend who happens to be an AKA. During the step show, he turned around to take a picture of us (my sister and me). When she saw him doing that, she pushed him and told him that he better not take a picture of us. Guess what?! He didn't look back at us the rest of the night. That's an example of a WIMP! He should have told her that she was trippin' and was wrong for trippin' out on him taking a picture of us just because we were Deltas. A MAN would have done that.

An example of a dictator:

I had a friend who never had any say in her relationship. If she wanted to get her hair cut, she had to ask him. If she wanted to go out, she had to ask him...need I say more?

I hope I answered your question

:)

Will bend:
1. different educational level
2. child (as long as he takes care of his)

Will not bend:
1. I absolutely refuse to date anyone with no goals or
aspirations for themselves.

Well they were funny and I think that was a clear example of when you should stand up and tell your other when they are trippin.
