Possible that it's historically significant? There are some loaded alums out there.

Crazy, but it has to make Sigma Chi's feel good in the way that somebody would pay that much for their pin even though it may have gone to a non member.

That is out of control!

I'm with ktsnake, that badge has to have some type of historical worth for it to go up that high in only 18 bids. For example, maybe the name engraved on the back was that of a past national President or something?
