NC State Greek Week CHAMPIONS!
I have never been so proud to be a TKE.....
So, we're at our end of semester camping trip--all 60 of us plus a handfull of alumni. We had to leave behind our beach volleyball team on Friday due to their 10:30 am finals game versus Chi Psi on Saturday. We knew it would be a neck and neck finish between us Phi Delt or PKP. We're all playing whiffle ball at the camping trip and the car pulls up. The guys have their heads hanging low as they walk up. Everybody wants to hear the news. They say the old line "we've got good news and bad news" Bad news first is that we lost volleyball. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS WE WON GREEK WEEK!!! Everybody went nuts. I've never heard a roar that loud. We all got in a big huddle and did a few TKE chants and I was reminded why I am so proud to be a Teke. Just thought I'd share this with you guys. If you ever swing through Raleigh, NC come check out our bitchin' trophy. |
congrats

Congrats! Go TKE and Go Wolfpack!
|
we had a Letter Shirt day today and so many girls, upon seeing me in my letters, can up and congratulated me and my boys.
This year, the other 27 fraternities that competed probably think "Wow! The Tekes won Greek Week" Next year, and for years to come, they'll think "Damn, those Tekes won again " |
Congrats again! May you dominate every year!
|
well always know we dominate at whatever we do because we are just better then everyone else

Nice to know people some people still refer to us as Dixie Alpha too |
Was Georgia Tech Dixie Beta? I have seen pictures of the TKE Dixie shirts from back in the day. Not very pc for today.lol

I have always heard of University of Louisville refered to as "Dixie Alpha"
|
Nope, we are chapter #50 (Beta-Beta)....the first chapter in the Old South when TKE began to expand in the 40s and 50s
|
Uiversity of Louisvile chapter was founded in 1947 they are known as the Alpha-Chi

Dixie Alpha
No one that I know of considers Louisville as in Dixie; it was the
first TKE chartering after WWII, in 1946. The first TKE chapter in the so-called south was Beta-Beta, NC State, and it was called Dixie Alpha--still is by some oldtimers. Beta Gamma was at OK State (dead), Beta Zeta is La Poly, and is perhaps Dixie Beta; Beta Eta was Mo School of Mines, now U Mo-Rolla, a rebel area during the Civil War, Beta Lambda, Auburn, would possibly be Dixie Gamma, and Ga Tech, at Beta Pi, would then be logically Dixie Delta, and so on. The latter two came on as a result of the absorption of Alpha Lambda Tau, a southern national. That is how we got Dr. Ralph Chester Williams...TKE was very sparse in the south in those days. Cheers to you all from Denver, YITB, Erik Conard, KoA, CFC |
