Who's bright idea was...

This thread is for things that make you think "What the H3LL!?!". I'll start.

Who's bright idea was "What Not to Wear" on TLC?!

Who's bright idea was bright yellow cars?? Hi, yeah, I'm a taxi, only not. (Sorry, pet peeve of mine).

Those are just to start.... I'll come back with more later. :)

i sort of like "what not to wear"

the very first test pilot episode they were telling a girl about pants and shoes and once they showed a before and after you could see that the pointy toed shoes really made her legs more straight and so forth

my what the hell is why would you buy a car that resembles a cop car? yeah wouldn't it be fun where everyone starts driving 20 mph all around you in fear of getting a ticket??

Already discussed ad nauseum... "Sexy" clothes for CHILDREN.

Psychiatrists for pets (along with clothing and jewelry lines)

Hard plastic packaging that is IMPOSSIBLE to open without a pair of scissors!

The umbrella hat!

BTW, did you know there is a patent on a "fart" collecting device?
MAYBE by the same people who brought us WOW chips!
Now I really say WTH to THAT! It's from the UK.

Actually, that show was taken from the British show that airs on the BBC. So on this one, just blame the British...

[[ WARNING: THREAD HIJACK AHEAD ]]

hehehehe...you know, I was just wondering if you all were referring to the show that we have here in Great Britain. :) I take it you're watching an American version of the UK show "What Not to Wear"? If so, you're probably watching some half-crap version. That's usually how it goes when someone from TLC decides to rip-off a show from Britain.

Case in point? Trading Spaces is an exceedingly lame version of Changing Rooms. I know, I know...I'm gonna get hate mail for saying that but it's my opinion. Did you all know that they have a New Zealand version of Changing Rooms/Trading Spaces? It's almost as sorry as the US one. :p

Another case in point? How about the sitcom "Men Behaving Badly" which was on for a while in the US circa 1999-2000. That was a take off on the classic British show of the same name. Of course, the English one was funny and the American one was just stupid. That's why one became a "classic" and the other one got panned.

So before you all go spouting off on "blame the British" it's not their fault. It's the doofus American producers which wreck perfectly good shows. :p

[[ END OF THREAD HIJACK]]

.....Kelly :)

My WTH list:

skimpy clothes in sizes above 18 (I'm talking midriff baring stuff)
(on a side note: I usually find stuff in Lane Bryant that's cuter than stuff in sizes 2-14) Just as ladies of a certain age should wear (or not wear) certain things, so should ladies of a certain size.

so-called "reality" shows. Oh of course if someone was filming my every move I'd be completely natural and myself. Of course...

people telling Americans to claim to be Canadian when travelling abroad.

Oh, HELL YEAH. I think yellow cars are ugly as sin, especially yellow SUVs. It's like they're screaming "LOOK AT ME. I'M DRIVING A YELLOW CAR." Why??? o_O

those "big kids" meals at fast food restaurants...i'm sorry, but i'm 23 years old and i'm not gonna/can't eat a double cheeseburger, fries and a coke..a 5 year old shouldn't be eating them either.

not to hijack my own thread but....one of my uncles does this, (he has all kinds of money), he goes out every couple years and buys whatever the newest version of cop car is around his area.. he never gets pulled over and he FLYS everywhere he goes.. in that sense i think it's funny...but as far as whenever I think it's a cop and it's not. ... then i'm annoyed. lol :p
