Ever had to compete for an SO?
Ever had to compete for a Significant Other? Either take them away from someone else. Had someone try to steal them lol.
Or just compete against someone head to head for them? Win or lose? Story? |

Yeah, two best friends in a row for the same guy! The first friend I fought for him was upset, caz we tended to like the same guys and I usually just let her have them...until this guy, and that pissed her off. The second girl was my other best friend...who was dating the guy's best friend. I have wonderful friends, don't I? (Of course this was also in High School)

I don't like to compete. If he wants me he'll make room for me in his life.

oNCE again am not reading all posts
challenge him to a dual. A sword fight. No poison blades, not to the death, first man to inflict three cuts on his opponets shall have the hand of the Lady. I'll be you second. I'll be there at dawn. |
I once fought for a guy my senior year of high school. He was already MY boyfriend and this little slut decided she wanted him because he was taken (old cliche, but true). I never saw anyone be so freaking slutty before this girl...she would find anyway to push herself on him...especially the part of her in the bust region. I told her to back off, and she didn't listen. We got into a fight, that I initiated (guys, start your chick fight fantasies here), and he chose HER because she wasn't "inclined to violence!"
What a jerk.....in retrospect I realize I was better off without him.::rolleyes: |

I don't fight. I let him know my intentions, and let the bricks fall as they may...
BUT, that may change in the future... |
Yes. I won.
But he felt the same way and she was treating him like crap, sooo...we all still talk, years later. it's one of those ridiculous all in the family situations like we lived in a commune or something. **pause - on to to a different situation** oh sweetie? just cause your boyfriend is looking at me, doesn't mean I am looking back, or making him look, so don't blame it on me. pardon me if I didn't put on my burqa before I talked to him. |
This used to happen to me.. I'd be competing but not know it. Then the girl would announce to me that she couldn't see me anymore because she was engaged.
Of course my first reaction was:eek: But, in both cases I was happy for them and fealt it was not loss. |
I did it once years ago. Never again.
The guy I was seeing swore up and down he was through w/ his past girlfriend but were "still friends" (Red Flag #1) Then he said that occasionally he baby sat the woman's two children (Red Flag #2) Then while at his house, I discover a traditional boxed tie w/ a Father's Day card inscribed "for our want-to-be dad". The b***h was using her kids to lure him back. (Red Flags and Sirens Blaring) Ultimately, I let her have him and I've been happier ever since. If you have to compete, he aint' worth it cause he'll find a way to cheat. (And a fine good Friday morning to everybody! I just started my coffee!) Adrienne (PNAM-2003) :D |
Actually happened several times in high school and college. I won all but one as I recall.
Damn, those times were fun. |

I was dating a guy who announced to me that he wanted to start seeing someone else.
He said, "I don't want you to get the wrong idea if you see me holding hands with another woman." I said, "Wait are you dumping me?!" He said, "Well yeah." What an idiot! He was younger than me and Jewish. I am Catholic. He said, "I think that I should be with a Jewish girl closer to my age. I am not going to be ready to get married for a few years." I'm thinking you knew my age and religion before we started dating so why did you tell me that you wanted to have a relationship with me. Also if I wanted to get married, why would I be dating a 23 year old boy who lives with his parents and makes a fraction of my salary?! My thoughts are mean. :p I said, "You're an idiot! Really an idiot!" So we remain friends. He puts the moves on me one day at his place. I really figured things were over and he wanted me back. Things are progressing nicely. ;) He gets a phone call from the other woman. I didn't realize it was a woman until I overheard a part of the conversation. I am leaving and I am pissed! He ignored me for a phone call with that other woman. As I am waiting for the elevator, he said, "Well it's not like we are exclusive. In fact I am involved with four different women from four different states." I asked, "Including me?" He said, "You, someone from Florida, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania." I said, "Well now you have one less woman to worry about." He started to make up some type of excuse or explanation. I really don't remember because I was so angry. I told him, "You are a bad man, a really bad man." Then I left. I don't bother fighting over men. If they can't appreciate me and me alone, I don't waste my time anymore. Younger man and I run into each other every now and then. He always tells me how beautiful and wonderful I am. I tell him my boyfriend thinks so, too. I'm thinking eat your heart out, idiot! :D |
