Reactivating a chapter?

Im from Morgan State University in Baltimore, and I was interested in re-activating the alpha xi chapter of gamma sigma sigma on our campus, and I was wondering whether anyone could give some advice or insight?

I am from Morgan State university in Baltimore , MD.

I am still waiting for for the director of membership to mail me the materials needed to re charter the chapter, I sent the e-mail 2 weeks ago and have not yet recieved the membership packet. Because the semester is basically ending in 2 weeks it would have been nice to assemble interested ladies this semester , so that we would have a nice foundation next semester and hopefully would get this done ....but I really can't do too much until I hear from the director of memebership.

I feel your pain@Keisha. I, too, am trying to reactivate the Alpha Kappa chapter at Florida State and I am about to give up because of the ignorance ppl have about GSS. Even some greeks on another web site gave me hell when I mentioned I was a member of Phi Alpha Delta Prelaw Fraternity saying we weren't greek. My answer to them....yes we are, only we are professional and we do not have any intentions on becoming social....So, if you need some words of wisdom as we do this together, holla at me....My e-mail is different from the one listed.

As someone a leader in a group of girls attempting to recharter, let me say that while it can get frustrating, it is so worth it! Just within the past two months, I have talked and interacted with some of the nicest people I have talked to in a LONG time!

I don't know how much help we at Howard can be to you, seeing as we barely have ourselves together *smile*, but I will pass on any contact info I have, and tell you what we have been doing to give you some ideas.

It would really fun to have the two schools only 45 minutes apart rechartering at the same time...I really hope you get the support you need to continue to pursue this! But I know as my musical cousin, you can hold it down!!
