I'm hooked on R.Kelly's Chocolate Factory CD. . .
Sorhors and Friends of Sigma,
I know that a lot of folks are still very upset with Mr. R. Kelly's behavior; however, I must say that his collection of songs are nice. He gives his listeners a variety of songs from Chocolate factory, Worried Woman, Been Around the World, and his song with Mr. Ron Isley is very nice. I'm glad that I purchased it and I know that some of my fellow sorhors and sista/brotha friends will give me grief about it but you have to check it out for yourselves. He really has talent, besides I don't have a heaven or hell to put the man in and I'm not without sin myself. I just follow a God that provides for my needs. Anyway, just check out the CD and enjoy the music for what it is - entertainment. I just thought you would all like to know. Serioussigma22:cool: |
i got some good stuff, too!
his personal behavior notwithstanding, R. Kelly is the man for real! i think he is a really gifted producer and a great artist; although i don't think he is much of a vocalist, his music really appeals to me and it's like i said when all these allegations and charges started popping up last year: what that man does in his personal life is between him and the LORD, but if he makes TP2.com part II, III, and IV, i will buy every album 'cause I know when R.Kelly puts it down, he REALLY PUTS IT DOWN! Soror Serious Sigma, I'm glad you know the genuine article when you see it!
BUT... i have to add two musical gems that i recently discovered last week: my $ finally got right and i got India.Arie's new album, VOYAGE TO INDIA. that song "can i walk with you" is SO beautiful and only is a taste of the great stuff she is working with on the album. i know i'm late on getting it, but it's the bomb. AND Jaheim's album "still ghetto" is really nice. it's thugging, but in a smoothed out kind of way. "put that woman first" is the jam! get that CD, y'all! india is for elevation and enlightenment, jaheim is what you RHOll out to when you are with your gangsta boo. when i get that next paycheck from the new 9 to 5, chocolate factory is on my list. |
I agree with you BlueThunder, that Jaheim is off the chain. That song he wrote for his mom is soooo pretty. And I have to listen to "put that woman first" a couple of times throughout my day.
And SeriousSigma22, I haven't heard R. Kelly's whole CD, but the tracks I did hear are really nice, and despite his behavior I am going to get it, because he is truly a great artist, and if you are like me and just love music, you buy the albums for the way they sound and not because of who sings it. Just my .22 cents on that. EspeRHO Fall '99 |
My $19.13...
IMO, R. Kelly is the best song writer/producer of our time. Yeah, he screwed up, but he is the one that has to report to the Lord, not me. So, I'll forever be a supporter of his music. And have y'all noticed that he's writing everybody's music:
B2K-Girlfriend...R. Kelly Nivea-Laudromat...R. Kelly Ginuwine-Hell Yeah...R. Kelly Ron Isley-What Would You Do....R. Kelly Selena Johnson-Guess What...R. Kelly And let's not forget his own music! This dude is making money from all kinds of directions! He's the greatest! I love R. Kelly AND his cd is the bomb!:D |
I have to admit that I finally broke down and got the CD. It is classic R. Kelly.

I love that brotha music. His voice is so beautiful.

And another thing Sorhors and Friends of Sigma,
I actually like track 9 "Ignition" better than the remix (track 10). Most of the radio stations around here are killing the song, however, track 9 is the first one I play over and over and over because there's something about that song. I just love to walk to the gym to it or work out to it because it really is a great song. Serioussigma22;) |
Okay, I'm lovin' the Chocolate Factory CD!! I like all the tracks, but #2 and 6 are my tops. On "Showdown" with Ron Isley, they really could've left the soap opera off though.........or at least made it an interlude.....
Has anyone heard anything about Vivian Green's, Syleena Johnson's, or Heather Headley's CDs? |

Heather Headly is nice, but you can tell she is broadway. There are some really nice cuts on there, her voice is just a bit too theatrical for my tastes. |
Did you notice how MTV is not playing the video or certain stations aren't even playing his cd? I just hope that some of these folks never get caught doing any forms of outward sins or dirty deeds because they will change their story real quick and want the public to give them a second or third chance.
Serioussigma22:cool: I actually hope that he gets the funding to turn the "Mr. Big" storyline into a movie. I would go see it! |

the song superwoman and if it isn't love are 2 of my favorites. |
Thanks for the tip!

Ok that was my mini vent. I love the Remix to Ignition, and that new song they just started playing, it trips me out the part when he says something about sweaty gorillas. It was just so funny at that time. |
I love this CD
I just purchased a copy of Chocolate Factory and I am feeling this CD.
Like someone said before R Kelly is talented and its not for me to judge him for what he did. |
