Greek Life?
 

Is it my computer or is something wrong with the Greek Life section of the General Forums? I have not been able to get in for several weeks now. I notice there are new posts everyday, but every time I try to get in the connection times out.

Something is wrong with the Greek Life forum. I read on another thread that they are trying to update it and get it to move faster, but so far--its too overloaded with posts!

Yes, there is something wrong with Greek Life, but I don't understand why. If most people cant's get into it, or have a very hard time getting into it, wouldn't it stand to reason that it wouldn't be overloaded with posts? I would think Chit Chat would be the one that is down because there are several new posts per day!

I too have not been able to get on Greek life unless I go to view active topics. Also topics that were 14 pages long in GL are down to one so people's replys often don' mesh.

Well folks, I can't guarantee that Greek Life's going to get any better anytime soon.

I don't think it has to do with the total number of posts the forum has...because if that were the case, then the AKA and DST forums would be affected too since they have just as many (if not more) posts.

John informed us that the server is overloaded. More people are logging on every day and GL's affected the most because that forum gets loads of traffic...and it's by far the most popular. What we have here is too many people trying to get into Greek Life. This explains why there's been slowdowns in GL...and in other GC forums. I've been having problems posting stuff on other forums too. I've only been able to access Greek Life when most of America is asleep.

But have no fear fellow GreekChatters! The new software for GreekChat has been tested and John says that he will try to get things up and running by the end of August.

Is anyone else getting a this document contains no data message?

I've been having a problem with it too. I know its got to be the amount of messages but I wonder if theres any foul play involved. I'm hoping we can get some improvements too and definitely better software. I too find myself only able to post in Greek Life either really late or really early. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Maybe John heard our grumbling because I've been able to get into Greek Life all day without a problem! Or, there could just be a lot of people working on recruitment...

John came through on his promise! The reason why we're all able to get into Greek Life today us because the upgraded server is online and running.

The new GreekChat will also be online once testing gets done.

Now if only IHQ would hurry up and get their site running!
