Weird habits you will admit to

Okay it isn't that weird but today as I was driving to work,I realized that the first thing I ALWAYS do is roll my window down when I get into the car.I guess I must be claustrophobic.I never really had a thought about doing it until today.Elevators don't bother me a bit. I also am a very right dominate person.Meaning I must walk on the right side.If I don't,I will veer into whoever is walking on the right.I have run many a friend or family member into storefronts and off sidewalks. Now they just know that I HAVE to be on the right. Also any minimally high bridge with water underneath freaks me out.I am not sure why, because I do know how to swim and heights aren't that bothersome.Somewhat but not too terribly.Do any of you ladies have any weird habitsor pecularities that you are willing to admit to?

I hate booths -- as in booths at restaurants. I hate them and whenever possible avoid sitting in them. I consider this a bad habit or phobia because most people I know prefer booths and it is rude to force others to forego a booth because they creep me out.

Secondly, I am obsessed with Orlando Bloom! (He plays beautiful elf "Legolas" in The Lord of the Rings.) But that really isn't a habit -- unless you count meditating on his picture for minutes at a time. Ha! Now there is an interview I am hoping to get!

MMMMMmmmmm... I LOVE Orlando Bloom too! My boyfriend thinks I'm nuts, but I don't care! Isn't he dating that chick from Blue Crush? :( I posted my favorite pic on another thread, but I'll post it here too just because he is so gorgeous!

Hmm...to stay on topic, I guess I can say that driving next to buses or big rigs freak me out because I always feel like they are going to ram into me. I try to speed up or slow down so I don't have to be immediately next to one. Plus, I'm deathly afraid of heights! I get all dizzy and can picture myself falling.

Forget staying on topic! Let's discuss Orlando's many virtues. LOL. Perhaps in another thread? ;)

staying on the weird habits topic (though starting a new one that's just about orlando bloom is NOT a bad idea... he really is too cute...), i'd have to say my weirdest habit is smelling things. before i eat anything, i smell it. even if something's not edible, there will be times i smell it, too. i don't know why this is, but it's a habit i cannot break.

My wierdest habit is after i lock all the doors, and i know i have, in the house i have to double check to make sure i locked them all before i go to bed.

OMIGAWD!
I used to do that. I was totally obsessive about it. I'd check them over and over again, getting up out of bed to check and re-check on them. Windows, doors, the whole 9 yards! When I got together with my now husband, I realized how wierd it was and how disabling it was and have weened myself off it. I still check them once, but that's because they are usually unlocked and there are some WIERD people out there in the neighbourhoods! So, you aren't alone out there... I don't think it's a wierd habit either. I think it is being safe and diligent and conscientious!

Wierd habits for me... hmmm... there are so many!!! :)
I can't have anyone touching me when I'm sleeping. Not event a big toe. I sleep in a little cocoon, with the sheets almost wrapped around me, my arms pulled in close. But I can't 'snuggle' to sleep like the average person. I have to, as I always say to my husband, 'sleep independently.' He hates it. But I think it's a rather wierd habit.

What else? Oh so many things. If I list them all, you'll all think I'm psycho. And I'm not. Just a little obsessive compulsive! :)

cutiepatootie 04-14-2003 10:07 AM

thank goodness....

I swear i thought i was sooooo obbssessed with it!:D I am glad to know others do the same thing as i do about the locks.

My ex husband was like that about sleeping.... could not have a finger or a toe or a hand near him!

we all have our litle habits!!!!!:D

I can't go to sleep without hearing my b/f's voice... just a simple goodnight. No matter where I am, I call him or he calls me. I guess it's not weird. Perhaps it's an addiction.

I always lock the car doors when I drive or ride in a car. I hate being in a car without the doors locked. A few of my sisters think I'm crazy. I'll have the window down and the doors locked. I have no idea why. I guess I'm weird.

I have been told that I eat my apples in a wierd way, but I guess that's a habit. So, here go the details... I start out by eating around the middle, then eating around the top part, then moving to the bottom. I ya'll get my picture :)
Also, the whole car thing, I do some wierd things when i get in the car, I have to lock the doors and I sometimes put on my seatbelt without realizing it, and pretty much, no matter the waether (unless it's really hot) I turn my heater on a little.
I also confess that I can't sleep without hearing my boyfriends voice :)

Just thought of one...

Every time I get a glass from the cupboard, I flip it up right and blow into it. I've been doing that for a few years.

lauralaylin 04-16-2003 12:19 PM

My weird habit is that I hate using the same glass twice, even if I would be putting the same thing in it. If my husband would let me, I'm sure I'd be just like the little girl in the movie Signs. I leave glasses all over the house like she does, half full of water!

bethany1982- I knew I liked you when I saw you're a Giants fan in the other form, but I had no idea you were an Alpha Phi too! :D Where do you go to school?
