Poll: Chapter Meeting Attire

We wear business casual, unless it's a joint meeting, then we wear business attire.

We do 'themes'

We do business casual too, but some months we are asked to accent it with our colors. One month, we have a 'khaki day' when we wear our letter khaki shirts. And usually for the last meeting of the Sorority year we all wear our favorite pari. My favorite pari is a grey t-shirt with SGR in block greek letters and the letters are colored in the state of Texas flag. These are the iron on/stich on letters where the bottom (outline) is one color and the top is another. So, the sigma is blue with a white star, then the gamma and rho both have blue backgrounds(bottom outline), and the top color is 1/2 white on top and 1/2 red on bottom. If you look at the Texas flag, then this discription will make more sense. ;)

When I first joined grad chapter I stepped into our June meeting with shorts on. You know Houston, 100 F and 100% humidity. They were nice khaki shorts and they fell just above the knee. Boy, did I get yelled at for doing that!!!!:( Alot of the older Sorors expect full 'Sunday' dress: calf length dress, stockings, heels and maybe a hat. Eventually we elected a younger administration and they relaxed the dress code a bit. :)

Business casual here, too.

Business attire.

I live in Cali, it varies...

I always thought that the attire was business casual. When I attended my first meeting, I noticed that it varied. The older sorors dressed business or business casual, while the younger sorors wore business casual to jeans.

It's supposed to be business attire but when it turns hot business casual sneaks in.:p . But business attire the majority of the time.

My chapter runs the gamut. Officers usually wear business or business casual dress, but some sorors even wear nalia. I usually wear business casual, but once in a while I will wear a skirt, stockings and closed-toe pumps, usually in the winter. Now to our upcoming meeting, I plan to wear a white pantsuit w/P&G touches.

When I visited Soror PrettyNPearls' chapter this past Saturday, I wore black pants, a pink dressy T-shirt, a black cashmere cardigan (it was nippy in SoCal) and hot pink thong sandals.

For formal meetings..."pin attire," which consists of anything but jeans...business/dressy, but not semi-formal. Most women wear black...a skirt and shirt, dressy pants.

We wear whatever. We usually just meet up in my dorm room so there's no need for business attire.

PrettyNPearls 04-08-2003 01:56 AM

Most Sorors wear business casual however the older Sorors wear business attire. And Soror Steeltrap it was nice to meet you last weekend. I'm always wanting to put a face with the names:)

Well, since you asked... :)

Our meetings were completely informal (jeans, whatever... though our girls would wear letters a lot of the time)

but once a month we would have a formal meeting, at which we were asked to dress in business type apparel (though this often leaned towards business casual)

Knowledge1922 04-08-2003 11:29 AM

business attire

NinjaPoodle 04-08-2003 02:19 PM

Unless it is a formal meeting, in which we wear business attire, casual is the norm, ie: jeans tshirts, para.:)

ladyj39 04-08-2003 02:24 PM

When I was a collegiate, we wore business attire to Formal Meetings, but usually letters and jeans to regular meetings.
