Question?

Ok, I have a question...I was going to go onto the IHQ site but accidentally typed in .com instead of .org and I took me to a list of AGD chapters and it had a page of famous AGDs...but it didn't include any of the people we usually list as alums (Carly Simon, Raquel Welsh, the lady who created Meals on Wheels) so I was wondering if anyone knows if they really ARE alums, and from which chapter? I know we debate this often, so can anyone fill in the blanks???

I looked at Carly Simon and Raquel Welsh's bios and neither one of them went to college so I don't think it is possible, really. I have never heard they were agd's though until you said that. Sarah

I have also heard that Carly Simon is an AGD. However, I had never heard that Raquel Welsh is. But, I don't know since they don't say they ever went to college. I'm very curious! Good observation Leslie! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

has anyone else heard that Mary Tyler Moore is an AGD? I've heard that a few places

I've also heard rumors about other "accomplished AGDs", but for now it's safe to say that they are simply just rumors.

Of course, if one wanted to pursue this further, one could contact IHQ and maybe they'd have that kind of information for you.

I'm hoping that the new and improved website will provide a good list of our accomplished alumnae!

I also forgot to add that I emailed Elise from the AlphaGam.net site asking if she knew who maintains the .com site and as far as things go, the befriend.com company probably bought the domain name and runs that site for informational purposes. At this point we don't think that befriend.com has any affiliation with AGD whatsoever.

As for the alumnae, the only one I know for sure is Margaret Moffet Toy (Alpha Epsilon-Westminster College), the creator of Meals on Wheels, the subject of an article in one of last year's issues of the Quarterly.

Much of the information we have on our chapter site regarding famous AGDs was obtained from the Zeta Chi website, and you can visit it at www.zetachi.net/fame_agd.html .

The author of those chocolate for the soul books is an AGD, I think she even puts in her "the author section" at the back of her books. It is really cool to be in a bookstore and see her books on the shelves.

By the By... Anyone else seen the picture of Amber on the cover of STUFF mag for July? I was in the airport and saw it and let me say... I really wished I looked like that, she was hot! I was very happy to point her out while she was on survivor but now I am even more happy to point her out to my brothers.
