Is it just me? A SgRho Dilemma
You know what? one thing I can say about GC is that we are pretty peaceful here.
But I have to comment on something that is only talked about on the PM. Cause I can't take it anymore. I'm TIRED TIRED TIRED of tip toeing around the Sigma Gamma Rho's! For real. I'm tired of SOME of you saying we don't make you welcome on the other boards I'm tired of SOME of you making snide comments to us and we dont say any damn thing, but when someone who isn't worth two chits makes a thread about DST/AKA. It's an all out war and "hey what about me?" WHO CARES! I'm tired of giving my HONEST opinion about what we call the SgRho's in cali, and how we call the Sigmas "Sigmas" and getting a PM like this: Knowledge1922 Member Registered: Jan 2002 Posts: 87 SIGMA who are you to tell me or my sorority of almost 80 years what we shold be referred to ?? We are SIGMA women. Just because who ever brought you in did not properly inform you does not give you the right to inflict your ignorance. Ok THETA? What the hell ever!!!! You WISH you were brought in like me. I'm tired of threads like this: http://forums.greekchat.com/gcforums...threadid=27289 or someone having the NERVE to post this: quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Originally posted by counting But at least we can say most of our members join to work for the sorority, not to decorate the world with their pink, green, crimson, and creme colors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And not expect anyone to respond! You got a lotta damn nerve! TIRED TIRED TIRED!!! So this thread is to simply say WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Cause I think I know what it is, but I will hold off until I get some responses. QTE |
OD - original dilemma
I can and will only speak for the post I made on a
'A Delta Delimma' in the SGR forum. When I first discovered GC there was a thread on sorority pins on e-bay. In the bunch of pins I noticed two or three DST pins. I sincerely thought I was helping y'all out by alerting DST members in your forum. Then I go back to check and without warning or EXPLANATION my post was deleted. I was a bit pi$$ed because like I said, I thought you all wanted to know. I went to my SoRHOrs and asked them on the SGR board what was going on. I felt that I could get a straight and honest answer about the situation from them, and I did. Then further in the post CT4 I think, finally gave me an explanation. I thanked her AND MOVED ON!!!! (Note: I posted this last year). If you really want to read some isht, go to the ZPB forum and read read the thread on 'Zeta Phi Gamma'. For what ever reason REIKI went off on me. I tried the polite answer, then the 'fight fire with fire answer', then I just said, which is true, that I respect her opinion. NOBODY SAID A THING ABOUT HER/HIS BEHAVIOR/LANGUAGE to another GC member. Honestly, I think it is in bad taste to bring this up like this. It seems very petty. I can think of some awful things I've heard about DST, AKA, ZPB, DDD, DZ, KAT, AXO, XO, AGD, ........ get the picture:rolleyes: . You don't have to be creative to be nasty. If you have received some hot PMs then keep them there!!!!! That is one reason to PM people!! |

Thank you again. Like I said, at the time I was new to GC and did not know the rules. |

sigmadiva, I just read Reiki's posts over at ZPhiB, and I found them to be completely out of line (and I posted as much). HOWEVER, I don't think that has much to do with THIS particular subject. As far as the way things were brought up, I don't know that it is in poor taste. Sometimes things have to be harsh or abrasive to get people to think about them. As for keeping pm's private, well, I am straddling the fence about that one. Since it was posted in public, I have to say I think it was in extremely poor taste to call someone out about their process simply because they posted something that had more to do with regional differences than her opinion. sigmadiva, I am not disagreeing with you at all, I am just trying to show a different perspective. |

I so agree with the statement above. I'm tired of dodging the issue. We have had threads like "what can we do to unite?" and all that other stuff on here. Because we had conflicts like these and were trying to TACTFULLY resolve the issue. But not everything in life can be sugar coated. Sometimes we need a jolt and this is why I posted this post. I am still waiting for replies before I get more into this. QTE |
Aight, from the various forums that I have participated on, this is the only forum where the members of Sigma Gamma Rho irk me.
Some of the GC members of S G RHo have a chip on their shoulder. Also, they take everything to the US vs. THEM level. For instance, the newest issue of ESSENCE features a member of S G Rho, but why is it that instead of celebrating, a member felt compelled to mention how THEY (non-S G Rho sororities) always have their sorority affiliation mentioned. That is not even true, but even if it were SO THE HECK WHAT. Stop being pissed off that Deltas and AKAs are known on a larger scale in the world. I see that SO MUCH on GC that it is sickening. |
One thang I just HAVE to say. I would bet 22 million dollars that some of this would not be such an issue if the frats didn't make some of the comments they make. This was proven in the Kappa thread.

SHE WENT THERE! ohhhh lawwwwd!
Personally (to lighten the mood),
I feel this thread should be under the "awwwwwww hell to da naw. This had me CTFU!" :D |

It will have me CTFU if some of the ones in question don't respond, they respond to everything else:rolleyes: QTE |

Hold your breath and wait on it. You see, QTE, this thread is full of drama. And most will take the high road. Be a lady, you see. Not respond to such foolishness. GC is supposed to be lighthearted, and people have better things to do. You see, you have too much time on your hands to even think about this. Let alone post it. It's not that serious, see. I mean, if it's that serious to you, then ok, but it's not going to be that serious to anyone else. Get a life. Not to mention, people have other listservs and message boards that they post on, so GC is simply extra. Like I said, hold your breath and wait on it. ;) |
ok, that pm posted by DeltaQte is from a year ago, neo that I was, would be all up in some one's face that called my sorority out the name.
however, here is the PM she had sent, since I see only one part of a pm was sent! Ok THETA? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for sending this e-mail just to prove my point of showing how low some people can really go and show they ASS when they really want to. I'm voting at the next convention that we not be referred to as Delta's, but Sigma's. Since we were founded before you and the Sigmas, then that will settle the issue. (shakes head) Get a life! head shaking
Oh Shaunda, Shaunda, Shaunda!!!
Neo...numba!!! have I not taught you well!!!!:D why you gotta start all this mess :D...is it really worth it. who cares what other sororities think and say about your opinion. Ya'll know I'm a semi-silent poster on GC, however I must agree with CT4 and QTE. Since I've been on GC, I've seen the same Us vs Them attitude by the ladies of SGR. I never understood all the funk and to tell you the truth, I really don't care. we all have OUR own opinion and if you like it, great if no, please don't send me a PM thinking that is going to change my view point. SGR's in CA are very very VERY different from the ones I've me in the DC area, but unless I knew that, I would always think that SGR's were "paper", but that's just me. let it go ladies..and Shuanda, I'm sending you a PM, let me see what you gonna do :D :p :p |
