Crazy Church Group Protesting Mr. Rodgers!
Article about church group protesting Mr. Rodgers
All i can really say is WTF??????????????????? These people are attacking MR. RODGERS!!!!! two weeks after his death????????? For something so utterly ridiculous?????????? This is one of the most insane things I have ever read. I'm surprised Jerry Falwell isn't joining in. |
okay.. after reading the article..all they said is that because Mr. Rogers refused to comment on homosexuality that he was just perpetuating homosexuality...thus making him a sinner or whatever..
i don't even know where to start on this "issue"/article.. all i really have to say is that the followers of fred phelps, jerry falwell, etc REALLY need to have their heads examined.. |
Don't trip girl, most radical church protest groups just embarass themselves and most people don't take them seriously.
And BTW: "Shirley Phelps-Roper, the attorney for the Westboro Baptist Church, explained that Rogers, as a Presbyterian minister with a television program, had a responsibility to comment on the issue. By not doing so, she explained that he was helping to perpetuate homosexuality, which the group says falls into the category of "whoremongery and adultery, which will damn the soul forever in hell." She added that the support some Americans have given to homosexuals has been the reason behind horrible tragedies including the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, the crash of the NASA shuttle Colombia, and the nightclub fire in Rhode Island." How they got those concepts from a wholesome show like Mr. Rogers neighborhood is beyond me. For F*ck's sake, stop analyzing childrens programming for things that might corrupt your kids. And if you think that they are corrupting your kids, stop going on crusades and just don't let your kids watch it! I'd rather my child watch Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, hell, I'd rather my future child watch the frickin Teletubbies than shows like Hot or Not, or Married By America. Which poses the question: if you don't want your child learning good life lessons from Fred Rogers, you'd rather him/her learn that in order to be accepted in America you have to physically live up to the standards of three never-weres? |

I cannot believe what I just read? The shuttle exploded because Fred Rogers did not denounce homosexuality?! I am flabbergasted at the amount of stupidity coming from this group! Just like the Taliban gave Muslims an unwarrented bad name, these people are the equivilant for Christians. I just can't even talk about it any more it is so stupid..... |
I always question people like that. Mr. Rodger's show was one of the better show for children to watch. It wasn't violent nor sexually in any way but some people need a scape goat for things they do not understand and Mr. Rogers was a good one since he is passed away and cannot do anything about these claims. I really wonder about these people's faith...

Amen!!! WTF is wrong with some people?! |
Why not get these people in the same room as alQadea and let them fight it out. Then we would have less crazy assed people to deal with.

I hate to imagine what they make their children watch. |

Try and say it 5 times fast. Come on, now. I bet you can't! |
I never thought i'd see the words
"whoremongery" and "Mr. Rodgers" in the same train of thought. We've had many head discussions about this article today amongst my friends. I'm glad the Pitt News actually had an interesting article for once. These people are nuts. You can count on plenty of counterprotesters. This town, hell, this country, LOVES Mister Rodgers! |
