So...who's going to Convention this year??

I hope I can!

We had our chapter meeting last Tuesday and we were all excited because it was the first time we had serious Convention talk!!! Those interested in going got their registration packets and delegate selections happen on April 11th. I really hope they choose me!

Even if they do...my main problem would be the airfare!!! Honolulu to ANYWHERE costs an arm and a leg.

I curious to find out if you gals will be going to Atlanta. It would be so cool if we all could meet up!

That would be so amazing if they did! I'm looking at the agenda and they have all these meals planned!!! Though I haven't been to one yet, I've heard that Feast of Roses and the Living Circle is one of the best (if not the best) part of Convention!

I would love to go, but I was looking at the prices and that is so not happening. Hopefully down the road I'll have an office or an advisor pos where I can go and I don't have to pay! Or maybe one day it will be somewhere within reasonable driving distance. OohTeeny, how did your t-shirt sale go? Our chapter ordered shirts and they were SOOO CUTE!!!

Hi Katey!

T-shirt sales are going well. So far we've sold a little over a hundred so far and the orders are still coming! With the money have now we're able to pay for one member's full cost for Convention, or they can decide to split that to pay for either the airfares or registration fees for two girls. Still, there's a car wash in the works and we're waiting for the tote bags to come in from the factory so we can sell those to the alumnae. You don't know how excited we get everytime we get a new order!!!

Thank you so much for supporting my chapter. It means so much to us, and we're happy you guys are enjoying the shirts!

Convention does cost an arm and a leg! Since I'm from the Atlanta area, (like a 50 min drive) thankfully I do not have to pay for nights at the hotel. Minus this, it is still expensive. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

On a cheery note:

I just found out tonight that I was selected as a delegate to Convention! My president also informed me that I'll be one of the recipients of the fundraising money. The fundraiser is STILL going on as our chapter advisors gets more and more orders every day. The amount was VERY generous, and I will be forever grateful to them because without that money, there's no way I could go to Convention. There's 5 of us collegians going for sure, and I don't know how many of our alums are going, but one thing's for sure--Delta Sigma's going to be represented in Atlanta!!!!

Well, this is going to be my first convention too. I am becoming the Chapter Advisor for Theta Phi at University of Tampa. I look forward to meeting all of you going to Atlanta.

Loyally,
Kate

I think they do but I am just wondering. Do leadership consultants go for free? I want to be one and I was looking at the info for becomming one (tho it is going to take a long time for me to get out and have that happen :-))

It's my understanding that Leadership Consultants & Leadership Advisors are able to go to Convention at the expense of IHQ. Our Leadership Advisor is excited to go to Convention this year as Atlanta's not too far from her home in Alabama!

And Kate--I look forward to meeting you in Atlanta also! Congratulations on being Theta Phi's chapter advisor. I remember when I first became a new member Tampa was still a colony. How are your girls doing?

Convention's 3 months away but I'm so excited already!

I'll try my best and find her! There are 5 collegians representing our chapter this summer and our alumnae president will be joining us as well. Unfortunately our chapter advisor won't be able to make it because of her job. She had just started her new job and wasn't able to take off work.

You can bet that I'm going to be making my rounds. If I can't find her...let her know that Sandy from Hawaii will be there!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

The new chapter is going thru ups and downs just like any chapter. The girls that we have work really hard and we are so proud of them.
