Knowing our history
Knowing the history of Alpha Xi Delta is important for a sister to know. As sisters we want to know that our newmembers have learned the important history of Alpha Xi Delta. I was wondering how in your chapters the sisters are able to see that the newmembers have learned their history. This is really difficult, because we do not want there to be any form of hazing, so we definitley cannot ask them to tell us what they have learned. We had the idea of the sisters playing a jeopardy type game with the new members, but that does not seem very fun. I remember as a new member we wanted to be able to show the sisters how much we had learned but my chapter can't think of a new way for any of this to happen. Any ideas would be great!

Our HQ has produced a Sigma Nu Trivial Pursuit type game. It uses a standard Trivial Pursuitesque board, plays by the same rules... All the questions are Sigma Nu related though -- includes history, Sigma Nu Law, trivia and a couple of other topic areas. It would take a lot of work but I think it falls short of any definition of hazing to be able to play (and maybe win) a Trivial Pursuit game.
Another idea would be something I did when I was Marshal (in charge of member education). In one meeting I had a trivia game that I put on, old members vs. new members. The winners got some cheap SN related prizes. Good times either way. |

Xingo, with facts instead of numbers on the cards. Give them a huge list of words/phrases. Write the words on the cards. The Clues are sentences. If you have the word or phrase that completes the sentence, mark it out. example: write 1893 on the card. The clue: We were founded in the year ____.
Hope this helps. Tfj, |
