New-Orleans--Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke was sentenced wednesday to more that a year in prison and fined $10,000 for bilking hs supportes and cheating on his taxes.

(Gee-why am I not suprised?:rolleyes: )

Duke pleaded gulity in December to tax and mail fraud; the sentence was the same one agreed to in his plea bargain.

U.S. Attorney Jim Letten said Duke must report to prison by April 15th. Federal guidelines require that he serve at least 85 percent of the 15-month sentence.

(MUST REPORT to prison?!?:eek: If this guy had been black, he would have had a personal escort!:mad:With such a huge gap in time till' the 15th, why wouldn't he skip the country?)

The mail fraud charge grew out of what prosecuters described as a six- year scheme to bilk thousands of followers out of hundreds of thousands of dollars through a direct mail campaign.
