I am currently attending Marshall University and at this time we do not have a current web site. the one that we do have is about 5 years old. I am in the process of getting assigned permissions so that I can update it. Harrison

i was delta at UMBC and i loved the rush table. the way i did it was draped the flag across the top and down the front. had a "science fair" board with good pictures of us doing stuff like hanging out, collecting food, two girls making out from spring break whatever might appiel to people. then flyers with rush schedule to hand out. also the rights of an associate for people to read. the paedegogus, either opened to the map of the chapters or famous alumni. had purple, green, and gold mardi gras beeds b/c that can't be a coincidence ;-) a nice paddle, maybe a class paddle that someone made that was nice. and ofcourse a sign up/contact sheet. picture albums are good to have around so people can see what they are missing. awards help but most people dont know what are awards mean.
also for like big org fair days we had a TV/VCR that played our white rose vidoes from around 98 to present. in the past the had big wooden boards in a semi circle behind the table tha had big wooden letters on it and would hang awards, composites, jersies of guys who are in club or varsity sports and stuff like that. the biggest thing to remember with a table and i can't stress this enough, is it is a tool to help you show someone what the fraternity is about. that mean dont sit at it, stand up, walk up to people and bring them back to the table to help in conversation. visual things halp continue the conversation when it starts to die. be proactive, don't expect people to walk up to it and ask question, i dont mean this wont happen just dont bank everything on it. seeing 20 guys in letters circling a table might be intimidating for someone. |

Phi Upsilon does the same thing, except we use the flag on the top of the table as a tablecloth and we had a vinyl baner made withthe chapter logo on it Lambda CHi Alpha spelled out (remember, most PNM's dont knwo the alphabet and might have trouble understandign who you are) and foundign date we put across the front. I think we dropped $120 on it and you can get about a year of good use out of it. Want soemthign longer lasting, consider going to a nylon screen prionted banner. It will double the cost, but save cigarette burns, damn things are indistructable, and washable. |
Harrison, check with the BN Zeta at Fl Int Tech. They had some great stuff for Founders Day when I was there in Nov. Check with Broter Jon Sagara on this site as he has the best web site for listing LXA Sites.
You may want to point out Our Coat of Arms!!!!!! It is the most intricut of any and all with more history behind it for being true to the days of old! While being a relative young Fraternity, 1909, we have done more and are stronger than many that came before us! We are progressive, 1st to do away with hazing, pledging, first in Risk Management, have paid consultants compared to volunteers. We do more for our Brothers than the others! Point out, it is not 4-5 years but for life as a LXA! Point out GreekChat as something to check out. One of the largest Fraternities with Brothers in all walks of life and professions, Brothers Nationaly and locally , chapters in every state but Hawaii. Now to put it in a format to get printed! Hope this helps! Bestest of luck! |
