I met a Phi Mu today...
from American University in D.C. It was so great talking to her. When she told us about her chapter it was almost as if she was describing my chapter, and made me realize once again how fantastic it is to be part of Phi Mu's sisterhood. I hope I can make a visit to D.C. to visit sometime before the end of the school year!

Where did you meet her...that is so cool. I new Phi Mu just moved to our town and really wants to ket involved. She chased down my friends dad because both of his daughters are Phi Mu and gave us her number. I'll have find out where she went to school. I love finding out people are Phi Mu when you meet them:)

I met her because she was visiting a friend at OU and realized that we have a Phi Mu chapter. She was at our house for a little less for 2 hours just hanging out :D

what's her name?!
My roommate from last year/chapter sister moved to DC this year to start her job. I wonder if it was her? If her name is Liz, then it could be. She's so great and I was just thinking about her today and how much I miss her.
Tara I have a Phi Mu castle... |
I met some, too
Just last week, I was at the Basil Leaf (a restaurant here in LaGrange where I waitress) and a group of gorgeous young women came in to have a bridesmaid's luncheon. I was wearing my disk, and one of them noticed it. She said that they were from LSU and were Phi Mu's there. Almost all of them were. Here I am in little LaGrange, Georgia, running into Phi Mu's from LSU. What a wonderful thing to have happen!

You're one of the girls Devon met! She's one of my sisters here in DC, and came back so thrilled to have met such great girls in her home state. It's so nice to know that we'll find wonderful sisters wherever we go!
ps-Thanks for the t-shirts! |
Yeah I am!!! You're welcome for the shirts!!! It was great to meet her!

phimulady01 -- I know your chapter sister!
I posted this on your chapter's website but not sure if it took, lol. Sorry, I don't think I ever actually heard her name, but she lives here in Newnan and works at my fav Italian rest. Jealous that she is going to LaGrange and is a Phi Mu!! I wanted her at West Ga to be an AGD;) :D

i'm so happy this thread has taken off, i found this site over two years ago and no one was using it! Now Phi Mu's rock this board!! |
Random meeting Phi Mu stories....
I once met a Phi Mu in the Philly International Airport. I was wearing a sweatshirt set of letters that gets passed down in my family, and I jsut happen to be wearing them on the airport that day. And I see this other set of letters in the crowd. So I go RUNNING up to her and almost tackled her. And she was like...Wow, uhm, way over-enthusiastic. LOL She was from Michigan, and it was just SO awesome to see my letters on someone I didn't know. Instant connection.
~~~ But by far the strangest meeting of Phi Mus I had was in New Orleans. My then-bf and I were driving cross-country from Arizona to GA and we stopped for a few days in New Orleans. The first hotel we stayed in was awful, but anyway. Here's where it gets wierd. In the ballroom of the hotel there was this formal going on. no big deal, that happens in hotels all the time, right? Well I go into the bathroom cause I was coming down witha wicked UTI and I was in pain. And we'd been driving all day, so I look like a schlump, no make-up, hair not done...in pain...but I was wearing my bid day shirt by chance. So...I'm in the bathroom..in pain. I won't get graphic ;-) and I hear these two girls come in, rustling intheir formals gowns and they both go into the stall next to me to help each other lift their skirts. (You know, you've all been there in formal gowns ;-) ) And one of them says "Yeah, this is sisterly love." And my ears perked up. And then I know I heard "Phi Mu" in there too. So I knock on the wall and I say "Excuse me...are you Phi Mu sisters?" And they go "Yyeeesss..." And I was like "Oh my god! So am I!" So we come running out of the stalls and there they are in formal gowns and I look like a scruffball. They were from Alpha Lambda chapter at Louisiana Tech, and they were at the hotel for an ATO formal. But it was AWESOME to meet sisters in such a random setting. Ok those are my random stories. :) |
