senior sendoff video?

This semester, I am graduating along with most of my best friends. I want to put together a senior sendoff video, but the method I use to put together a video is outdated. I could even put it together using a computer program (or pay someone to do it rather :D) and then transfer it to VHS probably.

TANGENT- after the University of Maryland rush thread- I am so intent on creating something like their GA office created too (or getting paying to get it made rather). It is awesome.

But, finally, what program do you use to make your videos for senior sendoff? How do you get them done?

THANKS!!

I don't know what you have in Chicago, but in Kentucky we send it to a company that usually films weddings and stuff like that, just an production company. What you can do with that is video tape anything you want and send them that along with pictures and they will make it into a continuous movie. Plus you can costumize it b adding music and word art. I have no idea how much they charge though.

Computer video editing is tricky. It's easy to get digitized and work with it (all you need is a video capture card or one of those USB Dazzle video things). The tough part is getting it BACK to VHS. I just finished editing up something from this Summer on a program called Avid (very popular video editing software) -- trouble is I need a $300 Codec to get it translated back to analog.

If your school has a broadcasting/film department it's very likely that you can use their editing hardware/software.

thanks!

Thanks for everyone's responses. I am going to try using a flash program and then transferring it to digital to VHS...we'll see if it works. I really want to try it myself, but if all else fails, I'll call the pros. Thanks again.
