SAI Question...
 

I have a question for all of you wonderful ladies...I really want to be an SAI, but we have Mu Phi Epsilon (not a big fan of them) on this campus and they won't let us start a chapter here...but we do have 2 transfer SAI's. Is there any way that I could be initiated through them into SAI without starting a chapter????

Generally, you must be initiated by a chapter. There exceptions to the rule (mostly for non-students, though). Your best bet is to e-mail National Headquarters (nh@sai-national.org) with that question.

Question .....Mu Phi Epsilon is NOT SAI. So how can they tell yall that YALL can't charter a chapter ? The only stipulation that I know of concerning SAI and MPE, is that members of MPE are NOT allowed membership in Sigma , Alpha , and IOTA!

It's a rule they have both mutually agreed on I guess to keep peace between the two.... if SAI is there MPE has to ask permission and if MPE there SAI has to ask permission. Have another question...can you be in SAI and a NPC social soroity???

Yes, you can be a member of an NPC sorority and SAI.

As to the rules about not being able to establish an SAI chapter where a Mu Phi, DO (and I think Phi Beta) chapter exist without first going through proper channels - that's part of our Shared Campus Agreement with those groups.
