Pushing the stereotype.
 

So some of my roommate's friends are superficial, you'll have that. Somehow we got on the topic of GLO's and the sororities on campus, and she tells me she USED to be a member of a certain org. I ask her if she doesn't mind telling me why she isn't a member any more and this is the answer I got:

"Well at first it was awesome, I mean I liked most of the girls and we always had a ton of fun...I met a lot of people, which is what I wanted to do, and went to some awesome parties...Well then, at the end of that year, we had 18 seniors graduate!! Can you believe that!?!?! 18!!! Well, oh well, so they graduated... Then I had like 5 girls left that I really liked, we were all good friends.. Well then they all got kicked out for stupid isht, so that sucked. And not to be mean, but then we had rush and they started bidding on and initiating A TON OF NERDS!!! I coudln't stand it!! I mean, I'm not trying to be mean, but I mean (this girl has an overabundance of "I mean" in her vocabulary), it just sucked!!! I can't even imagine being a part of an organization for more than like a year or something, ya know? I mean, you can only meet so many more and more new people, especially to party with, and so I was bored with it, the new people I kept meeting were just dorkier and dorker and no fun. And I just couldn't handle all the dorks and nerds we were letting in. At first, when I joined, it was a bunch of us that were really pretty and really fun and I mean a lot of us have boyfriends and stuff....But they new girls are so nerdy and dorky, they look at us like we broke the law whhenever we drink, and F*ck that!! I have a mommy!! I'm college age and in college, this is what I"m supposed to do!! And I THOUGHT this was what my sisters were supposed to do with me!! B*tches..."

Yeah, that was looooong, but the actual explaination (if you could call it that) was a LOT longer ("Spare me" is all I could think). Regardless, I was just standing there like :eek: :eek: !! I couldn't believe she was being serious!!! Maybe I'm just old-fashioned or something, but man, how superficial and, forgive me but, STUPID!!!

Well, on the bright side ... at least the org is probably better off without her!

While I am certain that there are those who think like that. its the truly naive that acutally admit to it.

Yep,

I always cringe when a member of a Greek Org. says I "WAS" a member of abc in U of BFE.

I am a Member of LXA and every Brother that I know whether it be My Chapter or not says I am a LXA from SO and So School!

Shame on those who went through the Rush, Educational period, and Initiation for saying something like that!:o Respect what you and your Brothers/Sisters have done and what you did with them!:cool:
