Greek Night preparation

Hey All,

I was just wondering how much effort different groups put into their greek night.

For example, is your group the one that overspends on the banner, practices the skit every night for hours, etc...or do you not really care, you just show up and do your thing?

What is Greek Night?

Greek night...where all the different greek org's at your school compete in "field day" type games against eachother.

Maybe at your school it's Greek Week, or Spirit Day/Week?

I guess it varies at each school, but the idea is all the fraternites compete against the fraternities...sororities against sororities...with events like:

-banner
-skit
-races
-swimming
-limbo
-tug of war

We had Greek Olympics. We competed in tug-of-war, arm wrestling, basketball, volleyball, etc.

try the social or philanthropy forums... i KNOW I have wrote about greek week in those categories. Try searching...

but to answer: Greek Week is a week long ordeal. Greek Sing is at the end of the week. Kinda like a greek musical for each group. All groups chose songs, change the words, and sing and dance. The guys are pretty funny. The girls take it pretty seriously. We do have long night practices the weeks before. Most of the time for the sports, we have sign ups. Whoever played that particular sport in high school or just has a natural talent usually signs up. We don't necessarily "practice" for it.

We do banners and window painting. For the athetic things, usually a fraternity and sorority pair up and compete together, because it can be hard to get a lot people to actually participate.
