Just a question?????

Good Evening Ladies...
Just a quick question... What advice would you give to a prospective member who is attending a informational in two weeks. I am kind of nervous, and your advice would help. Also,I want to know if someone seeks membership into a graduate chapter, and becomes a member, would they recieve the same respect from undergraduate members who are also part of the sisterhood?
Thanks Much for your time.

The simple and honest answer is to be yourself. Don't feel that you have to put on 'airs' and try to portray yourself to fit some ~image~. Chapters want to be well rounded and diverse, each person has a unique talent or ability that can support and improve the chapter. For example, an undergrad chapter my grad chapter advises had a member who could do wonders with glue and construction paper - her chapter went to Regional and won Undergrad Chapter Scrapbook of the Year Award. Also, think about what the chapter can do for you. Are they involved in service activites that will get you out in the community. Are they prominent on campus? Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Yes, someone who goes through the grad chapter will receive the same respect. All sorors are treated equally and are expected to adhere to the same principles our Founders established. Actually, when I was an undergrad I looked to the grad chapter for guidance and advice.

Hope this helps :D

i have to chime in with my sorors on this one: SIGMA truly celebrates women for who they are-- no molds to fit or stereotypes to live up to. the only image to maintain is that of being your best and truest self and being committed to becoming an even greater woman ON YOUR OWN TERMS! and although every woman is not right for SIGMA(or vice versa!), we still understand that it takes many dynamic women to make the world go around!

eee-yip to that!

Make sure you dress appropriately and do your homework about the organization. Always ask questions and again be yourself. Lastly come early or at least on time.
