Need an idea...
I just wanted to ask what ideas you all have for philanthropy? I already have the connections for the group whom the money will be for, I also have the support of the guys in my house. I am wondering what is the highest yield event you all host. I am trying to find a some local companies to match what we earn, and I want this charity to get a nice sized check! Thanks for you help in advance!!!

TOPLESS CAR WASH!!!!!
This works really well if you do it with a sorority. You have the girls stand out ther with signs that read "Topless Carwash". Then you wash the bottom half for free but the top half for a donation. MAkes anywhere from $600 to $1500 in a few hours. One that takes a lot more planning but makes a lot of money is a Casino night, where people pay for chips, but then win raffle tickets for the amount of chips they win. Then you raffle off donated prizes. Takes a lot of planning, but a great event, makes a lot of money if you work at it. one thing to watch out for is violating stae gaming laws. I would rent the tables from people that help you run the event for a small fee.

I think depends on where you live but....
Next week we are doing a Philanthropy event with Stone Cold Creamery !! For all you that don't know it is an ice cream palor that you pick what toppings you want mixed into your icecream. Its a huge hit out here. (sorry for kinda being, 'duh' with that but I wanted to make things clear) Anyway my sorority will be there from 2-11 all day hanging out and even making ice cream. :p We are going to get a huge portion of that day sales to give to the Phi Sigma Sigma Fondation. The monday before the event we are going to have the Cold Stone PT Crusier on campus with free samples. Its going to be great and is already making good PR with our posters and flyers. Its something fun and easy to do that doesn't involve a whole lot of work. Hope the idea helps ~Heather |
