Been here before, but WTF:
Bernie Mac's size and height is perfect. I like to know a man can handle all of this. Definitely over 6 feet, but did date a cop who was 5'7 talking about a Napoleon complex, wow.
Dark complexion, but my exhubby and current guy are medium.
Well grommed a must, good sense of humor a must, employed a must, no wacked-out, crazed ex's a must, but did get caught up once.
A christian a must. Overall a man who treats me like the queen I am.

Well, my list is pretty long, but here goes...

My IDEAL man . . .

- believes in God, wants to grow nearer to Him, and wants to live life right, in the footsteps of Christ
- will love me unconditionally,
- is my intellectual equal (and this does not necessarily mean college educated. College does not make you more intelligent, it just makes you more knowledgeable about some topics.)
- has a sense of humor (VERY improtant)
- is concerned with the state of his race
- respects me
- has dreams and is working towards them
- is interested in my dreams and helping me achieve them
- isn`t afraid to say he`s afraid
- isn`t afraid to ask for my help
- isn`t afraid to accept my help
- isn`t afraid to cry
- isn`t intimidated by what I already have, and what I still want to achieve
- will pamper me the way I pamper myself, because after all, I deserve it!
- is in tune with his emotions as well as my own.
-IS ABLE TO TELL THE TRUTH!!!!! I can`t STAND a liar.

Physical stuff isn't TOO important, but there are certain things that I'm a little picky about:

1) Teeth. Must be well kept and maintained. No unnecessary gold fronts, no discoloration, no halitosis, no teeth sleeping on top of one another. You get the picture. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

2) Height. I'm 5'8". I would like for him to be at least 6'. Though I'm partial to men that are 6'2" and taller.

3) Weight. I'm a big girl, so I'm not too comfortable with a SKINNY man. Not thin, SKINNY. There's a difference, lol. I feel you Chi_ZETABBW, I need to know he can handle ALL of this, LOL! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Oh, I guess there is ONE physical aspect that he must have: he must be of AFRICAN descent. I prefer Black American, but I'm flexible, lol.

I don't have an ideal man as far as looks. The only thing is that he has to be clean, intelligent, and something else that I can't list.

Girl, after my pastor told us to be specific in our prayers, I figured I needed to be specific about what I wanted in a man. That way I don't end up in no mess I don't want to be in. That's why the physical stuff is the least important on my list. I think you learn a little more about what you want each time you leave a relationship.

I have learned to take the good with the bad. He can have some of my "ideals" and be lacking elsewhere on my list so I stopped making the list. If he's good to me and makes me feel good and I smile when I think about him then he is my ideal. I really don't have a list; however, he better not pronounce men as "mens" or people as "peoples". I would like for him to be gainfully employed and gainfully ENDOWED http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif. I would like for him to have God as his head so that he can effectively lead his family. I would like for him to be gentle but firm. I would like for him to be intellectually stimulating. He must be clean ( drug free, disease free, men free, etc...) I would like for him to be patient. Oh, did I mention FREAKY! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif!

Ok guys I guess I do have a list! I am getting sleepy again. This is all for now!

Ok here's my list:

Physically:
He should overall look good to me. If so, I can be flexible w/ some of these characteristics. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/cool.gif

-Height: at least 6 ft. (I have dated shorter though)
-Weight: should be proportionate to height (I don't really like skinny tall men...for example Tek from the Real World. EW! I like meat ok?! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif )
-NICE teeth! No gold teeth (unless WAY in the back of the mouth). They should all be as close to straight as possible. I have very nice teeth (never had braces!). I'm just looking out for my future children w/ this. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/cool.gif
-Should be fit. I don't need huge muscles or anything, just a nice build will do. I need to SEE that I can be protected if something goes down, feel me?

Ok, other things:
-MUST be able to communicate! Shouldn't be scared or whatever, to talk to me about problems/issues he's dealing with.
-Should be spiritual
-Willing to learn new things (take that how you will..lol!)
-Should have goals/dreams and should be actively pursuing them
-Should have a steady job and preferably a car (I stress preferably)
-Caring, romantic and generous
-Sensitive (but not TOO sensitive)
-Should care about himself (health and appearance wise). But shouldn't be obsessive w/ his looks.
-Should know what "give and take" means

I think this is the gist of what I consider my ideal man. There's probably some other stuff. But as long as he's good looking and treats me well, I'm straight.

My ideal man is:
-six feet or taller
-built like a basketball player (muscular, but not too muscular)
-any complexion as long as his skin is clear
-keeps a fresh haircut

Mentally:

My ideal man:
-Believes in God and has a relationship with him, first and foremost
-Respects me

Those are the only two things that I need. I believe that with respect come a lot of other things that help a relationship, but without it that relationship is doomed to failure.
