4th of July

What are you doing for the holiday.
I hated celebrated days. I will be working, double time and a half, yippee!
For those who live in Chicago, no Taste for me.

Fourth of July

The weekend before, my family barbecued. A week later was my birthday, and I got my nails done and went to a carnival to celebrate. :) Ever since last year, I decided to celebrate my birthday for a week straight. The day after my birthday, I went with a friend of mine to a poetry reading. Late Friday night, I went with my cousin to Greekfest in Philly. I had a ball!!! :D The day I got back, I went to my neighbor's house and helped her celebrate her birthday. Since 1996, I celebrated my birthday at the NAACP's National Convention wherever it was held. I didn't attend the last two conventions because I didn't have the money.

Just wanted to bring this TTT, being that July 4th is 2 weeks from tomorrow. :D Also, I currently celebrate my birthday for the rest of the month of July, and have for about two years or so.

hopefully my roomate from college will come up to visit. If so, we'll hit the Nationals game and watch the fireworks downtown. :)

Whether I road trip or stay home, I will be up under somebody's barbeque....for real.

What better way to celebrate this country than by blowing up a small part of it?

My family will be having it's enormous cookout on Sunday since so many folks plan stuff for the 4th. We got fireworks y'all!:o :D

Well, since up brought it up:

HAPPY FORTH OF JULY

How ‘bout them fireworks? Pretty cool huh?
Ever wonder why we shoot. Them off on the Fourth?
It’s because we are celebrating our Freedom.
It’s because we are Americans.
And it’s our birthday!
The first three words of the Constitution:
We the People…
We the people and celebratin’ our independence
We are The Declaration of Independence
And the Star Spangle Banner up there in the sky.
We are the Rocket’s Red Glare, the Bombs Burstin in Air.
We are The Fourth of July!
We are The Pledge of Alliance we say to our Flag
The Stars and Strips Forever!
We are the Republic for which it stands.
The United States of America.
Remember?
We are that One Nation, under God,
Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All
And because we all live in the Land of the Free
We don’t have to say it at all
Unless we want to.
You wanta be counted?
Then stand up and shout it!
Make sure the whole world gets to hear it!
You wanta talk freedom?
We know all about it!
We are the American Spirit!

The following words were spoken by the late Red Skelton on his television program as he related the story of his teacher, Mr. Laswell, who felt his students had come to think of the Pledge of Allegiance as merely something to recite in class each day.
Enjoy your Weekend-Keep it safe and sane.
And remember what it is all about.
