Greek Week 2003
We just found out we are paired with the Delta Zetas for Spring Sing.
Our Greek Week pairs us up with a sorority at each event (different each time). How does yours work? Please let us know how your Greek Week or preparations for it are going. |
Our Greek Week is in preparation time now...we usually have it the first week of April, split up into events like Skits and Banners, a sports day, etc.
We're not paired up with other organizations - the fraternity or sorority with the most overall points wins, straightforward as that. |
we have parings for all events.
but we try to have at least one house from IFC panhellenic and usfc in each group. we also have a points system so there is awards for esch houses. |
We are pairing up with one other fraternity and one sorority. This year we are pairing up with the men of FarmHouse and the ladies of Alpha Gamma Delta.
So many things are included in our Greek Week: VESPERS (Award ceremony), Tournaments, Greek Olympics, Lip Sync, Spring Blood Drive, Polar Bear Plunge, Campus BBQ, Community Service .. the list go on and on, but the idea is to collect the most points (each categories has points for winner). |
At my school, sororities and fraternities are teamed up for the entire week based on who you haven't been with in the past few years (the teams are picked by the Greek Week committee).
Greek Week is from March 31 through April 3 this year, and it includes kickoff ceremonies, Greek cheerleading competition, Greek Olympics, a lip sync competition, a 5K run, Greek Week king and queen, banner competition, an Aphrodite and Zeus competition (where each team submits an Aphrodite and Zeus candidate, they get dressed up in fancy togas, get paraded around in the basketball arena on floats, and have to compete in food-eating competitions, question and answer sessions, and usually a talent section), and some other activities. This year, my sorority is with the men of Sigma Tau Gamma and Phi Sigma Kappa! Go orange team! |
We also get paired up with other orgs @ my campus (in order to assure that the numbers are even). Here are the pairings for 2003:
Team Cerberus National Pan Hellenic Council Sigma Phi Epsilon Alpha Omicron Pi Team Hades Alpha Xi Delta Alpha Epsilon Pi Pi Kappa Alpha Team Cronus Phi Mu Pi Kappa Phi Omega Beta Phi (Local) Team Orpheus Phi Sigma Sigma Phi Sigma Kappa Phi Gamma Delta Team Dionysus Delta Phi Epsilon Tau Kappa Epsilon Lambda Theta Phi (Latin Fraternity) Delta Phi Omega (Asian Sorority) Team Tantalus Sigma Alpha Mu Sigma Sigma Sigma Beta Kappa Gamma (Asian Fraternity) |
At my school, the fraternities and sororities are divided into one of four divisions (large & small fraternity and sorority). Then, the teams are chosen at random. There are 5 teams of 4. This year we are team 4:
Kappa Sigma Delta Zeta Alpha Phi Alpha Delta Sigma Theta It should be alot of fun. The Alpha's are already teaching us to step for Talent Night. |
At UM the sorortiies are paired with either one or two fraternities. We have a Pairrings Party at one of the local bars and a Greek Week rep from each sorority draws a name of a fraternity from a hat. All members of the Greek system are invited to participate.

Our greek week is weird. The four frats compete against each other and the 3 sororities compete. We have field day thats ona sunday and then that night is sing. Then the rest of the week is all atheletic events:rolleyes: i.e. soccer, football, basketball, kickball, frisbee. We also have a taboo game, trival persuit, and pool and chess. Then greek week ends on a sunday night with skit. I hate greek week. One frat and one sorority always win since they both have all the athletes. Every year someone gets hurt or there's a fight about something. Its all about sports here though.
