formal ideas

Hey girls, I'm working on planning our spring formal and i'm trying to see if anyone has any real cutes for themes and such. Last year we had a Southern Comfort Debutante Ball, but i'm still kind of new at this so i'm looking for some fresh ideas.

I tried to post earlier - let's see if this one goes through.

What about Midnight in the Garden? You could do fairy lights, flowers and fountains, garlands - very romantical ;) The social chair manual has a lot of other ideas that may spark some creativity.

Oh, just a reminder that Pi Beta Phi does not allow alcohol related themes. Make sure you have your AAC approve the theme you choose before you begin planning.

PPL,

our formal this year is on a river boat. Its going to be really fun. They are going to serve us dinner and everything.

WVAlphaAngel, you and I tend to think along the exact same lines!

I'm the social chairman for my chapter, and we are having ours on a riverboat, too! Although it wasn't my first choice of location, our members are soooo excited about the boat thing. From what I've heard from the girls who have been on this boat before, it's a great place.

About the theme thing, however.... We don't usually have a "themed" formal, but I am trying to make everything about his formal as "nautical" as possible - invitations, etc. We did just have our winter semi-formal ("Beaux & Arrows"), though, and the theme was "Pi Phi's Prince Charming". We tried to make it very fairy tale romantic, and it turned out really well.
