Anti-Valentine's Day

I was just wondering how many people are sick of the holiday that hasn't even happened yet.
Im sick of people trying to get me to buy roses in the student union, I am sick of mushy faced people getting all cozy with each other, Im sick of the girls talking about what thier wonderful boyfriends are getting them...Im sick of white and red and balloons and chocolate and commericals with people getting married....GRRRRRRRRR

I guess im sick of this day the most b/c tommorow I am going to end things with my boyfriend...great huh? Well he graduates in May and I still have a year and we have said that maybe we should slow things down since he is leaving..and hes leaving all the way to germany...and doesn't want to get married so young....SOOOOOO I dunno...

top it off, im sitting in my dorm knee deep in tissues, with the flu...great huh? sooo much fun

so all that added together explains why I hate V-day!

Anyone else wish to share their I hate Valentine's Day woes???
I know I cant be the only one on Greek Chat who is dreading tommorow!

Why are you going to end things tomorrow? That seems funny to choose to do it on Valentine's.

I normally end things as soon as I decide I am going to.

Anyway, I don't really feel one way or the other about the holiday. It's just another day. I mean, yeah, when I have a boyfriend at V-Day, I want him to do something for it, but I expect him to be nice every day.

Tomorrow I'll be doing the usual things I do on Fridays--sleeping in in the afternoon and getting drunk at night.

I see V-Day [or Singles Awareness Day] as capitalistic ploy to rid poor unsuspecting men of their $$$. According to the Man Show [teehee], most men don't give a isht about V-Day. They don't give a isht if their GFs, wives, significant others give them presents. They only get the women presents in hopes of getting laid at the end of the night.

To be honest, I'm sooo looking forward to the Annual Condom Fair being held tomorrow at the Campus Center. Condoms, lubricants, and visual aids. Hooray for safe sex.

Yeah... tommorow I'm ready for a fun evening of getting some....from my organic chemistry textbook.

My roommate keeps complaining about how she has a date with the laundry machine for tomorrow night. One of my other friends volunteered to be scheduled to work tomorrow night just so he wouldn't have to deal with V-Day.

I was very anti-Valentine's Day when I was 14 and 15 but I've found that it's just easier to tolerate it.

This is the first year in the past 4 years that I'm not excited about Valentine's day......

I went to Wally World today and I almost puked in the aisle from all the pink and red crap everywhere. And all the people scrammbling for last minute gifts made me pretty nauseus too.

So, I'll go to school, work and on a "date" with this guy from one of my classes.....hopefully he doesn't think that it's a big deal..oh, well:)

Much Love to all my Single GCers!

I will be at the bars... fun times!

Funny this thread was brought up. My sorority was selling Anti - Valentine's Day grams at our school...on my away msg today i had officially declared today as anit- valentine's day.

so, HAPPY ANTI- VALENTINE'S DAY to everyone! :D

Well, I'm not totally ANTI, but i'm not really pro either. I seriously cannot remember what I did last year this time! I've been seeing how long i can go w/o a date...well not really trying, it's actually quite easy, no work involved....just can't wait to reach the 2 yr mark!

Anyway, tomorrow, i don't have work, so i'll be sitting on my butt, doing nothing all day cuz i have no friends in this "trou" of a town!

I don't know why (well I sorta do) but I feel depressed this Valentines Day. I started thinking about how a year ago I was engaged and how we went out for the best Valentine's Day dinner and how romantic it was...yada yada.
Yeah, so I'm working on 3 hours sleep, had a hella long day, gotta work Valentine's Day and I REALLY don't feel like putting up with the BS from men who want something that we don't got cuz they were too lazy to buy it Monday (heaven forbid they shop early)...GOD, is this retail season another repeat of Christmas?!?!

Sorry for the ramble but I'm just not diggin' this V-day CRAP!

BUT, my best friend did give me a nice v-day present tonight. It was a mini-rose bush planted with three mini-bar bottles. She said if I can't have 1 man right now I should have three: Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, and Jose Cuervo. Thank God for friends :)

Sounds like a wonderful friend!

I have a date with Jim, Jack, and Jose tomorrow night. They always make sure I have a great time.

Hope you enjoy them too!!!

I have a date for Valentine's Day. It's only the second time in my life that that has happened.

We may be a little strange in this... But my girlfriend and I don't celebrate "Hallmark Holidays". Every day should be treated like v-day.. Maybe without gifts and cards though:D

Oh I agree with that. You should tell someone you love them everyday, not just on one day. I'm not a big fan of valentines day. I never have celebrated it, and i promised myself I never would.

Woohoo! Start the bitterness :D

We actually started an annual party last year in the sorority, calling it the "Love Schmove Party". Basically all the single people get together, hang out, drink, bitch, whatever. Couples are allowed, but absolutely NO PDA's.

I can't attend this year, sadly. I'm going to the bar with some people from my law fraternity to do some planning and drinking.

Everyone should have a few shots in them today. And if any of you knew what a wussy drinker I am (i'm NEVER drunk, barely drink), you'd know that takes a lot for me to say!
