Newsletter

Im doing two newsletters for my chapter, one for the alumnae and the other for the parents. This is my first newsletter i have ever made does anyone know what types of things you put in a newsletter. Please any ideas are welcome.

When I did the chapter newsletter I tried to include the following articles:

-biographies of new members

-article about rush

-special announcements (engagements, pregnancies, other alum
news)

-articles about special events, philanthropies, formals etc...

-Dates of upcoming events (initiation, homecoming etc) that parents or alums would be invited to so they can save the date.

Good luck!

One thing I learned in the past was to try to spread the word about events [Initiation, philanthropy events, etc.] WELL IN ADVANCE if it's possible. I remember having alumnae complain that we didn't give them appropriate notice once!

For the parents, in addition to what lionlove mentioned, try to include some little facts and tidbits about your organization or your chapter. I know on our official AGD website there's a special section for parents giving them tons of information about AGD.

If you don't want to write every single article, my chapter has each officer write their own little blurb about what the chapter has been doing within that officer's command. For example, our VP Foundation writes about our philanthropy events, while our Director of Activities is responsible for doing a write-up about Homecoming.

Also, don't forget to scan pictures for your newsletter!
