United Day of Prayer: Mark Your Calendar
 

March 3, 2003

As we all know, there is a serious possibility of our country going to war very soon.

We were talking about numbers the other night......
In scripture, we are well aware that the number 3
represents the Holy Trinity....Why not call for a day of prayer and fasting for our country......on March 3, 2003.
In simple terms it would be 03-03-03.

Wouldn't it be great if all Christians everywhere,
especially in our country, would stop what they are doing and pray for our nation on the same day...

We could make 03-03-03........... God's Day.
Add 3 o'clock......... if that fits into your schedule.
03/03/03 is God's Day........ and 3PM is God's Hour.

Let all Christians stop at 3 PM for 3 minutes of united prayer.

Faith is the doorway that all miracles come through, but prayer is the key that unlocks the door.

I hope you will pass this request on to all your friends and family.

I would even further admonish that if you have the ability to take off of work, do so, and spend the time committed to prayer. Unfortunately I can not take off...but every little moment that I get, I will praying. Praying for our country! Praying for our President! Praying for the world. There is much to be thankful for as an American citizen and much more to be a child of God in this day.

3 minutes is not a lot of time (if that's all you can spend) to pray to the one who has blessed you with life and the possessions that you have.

I love this idea and will definitely be one of the many praying. I would like to add, that the request should not only be made to Christians, but to all faiths- Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, etc because all faiths are and will be effected by this war (if America ignores the words and protest of its citizens).

America is not made up of just Chrisitans, but every religion known to man and we should come together in true unity, putting aside our religious differences and just pray to the Almighty Creator who made each and every one of us. I think The Creator would be pleased to see that his children were praying for forgiveness, guidance, strength, and wisdom.

I'll get off my soapbox now. :)

9 PM Prayer ET (8 PM CT)

In W.W.II, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate, every evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time(8:00 PM Central Time), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, its soldiers & its citizens, and for peace in the world.
