spring recruitment... attempt 2
 

boy... i have been havin issues posting threads... anyway... here is what i tried to ask:

How is everyone's spring recruitment going? Do you have a spring recruitment? What do you do?

Our recruitment is like that in fall... a week long of events after the national sororities have COB. The COB period is about 2-3 events for the nationals.

Our first event was on Monday and we had 10 girls come out. That is really good for spring rush. How is everyone else doing?

We don't have that formal of a rushing schedule--only three events--henna night, ice skating, and a tea social. We were supposed to have a lip sync event, but scheduling fell through--all in all, I think it went well :)

BTW--I've been having problems posting too--the little that I do.

At Emory & Henry first we have a meeting for all the rushees. It basicly explains about hazing and what should not happen during pledge week.

Then each sorority holds a themed dinner. In my sorority, we have all the rushees meet us in front of one of the freshman dorms. We then come and pick them up. Of course with ballons and flags waving out of our windows. Once we get there we perform a dance to song. (One that fits our them). We then take them to where ever we are holding the dinner.

First we introduce everyone, then we eat and look at old scrapbooks and talk with all the girls.

During our pledge week we make up different chants and songs. So at this time each pledge class stands up and performs their chant or song. Some of them are always funny.

Next we teach the dance to all the girls. This is usually the most fun we have.

Then we form a circle (sister, rushee, sister, rushee, etc.) and briefly tell what being a Delta Rho means to us. We then hand out friendship pins and then sing our Sorority song.

We had our favors that corespond to the theme. And then take them home.

Well rush went well for us, we just gave out 8 bids and they are all awsome gals. good luck to all!

we got 11 this semester. They had bid day at a pizza joint last saturday. I still have yet to meet all of them, but the one I was talking to at the bowling event was adorable.
