All-star weekend
Did anyone go? How was it? I can see form the paparer traffic was off the hook. I have told admission to parties was $200-500 and that the celbrities were in full effect. Any ATL residents want to vent about the gridlock?

1. Going to the mall? LOL. I went to Lennox Mall on Saturday afternoon and COULD NOT move because there were too many people. They were making people line up and go into stores one by one, but only AFTER a thorough pat down from security. They eventually ushered everyone out and closed the mall at 4:30. 2. That night we had to go to our party at EIGHT o clock to get in (luckily I knew the guy that was working security, lol). The parties thrown in major clubs were big money, but the one I went to was only $20-$40. It was hosted by Mary J. and Busta Rhymes. They maybe should have jacked up the price to weed out undesirables because there was a stabbing as well as another fight. And this was at the Sheradon Hotel downtown, so it wasn't ghetto. Sigh. 3. Trying to go to an afterhours spot on Peachtree (downtown ATL's main street)...NOPE. There was NO moving anywhere downtown if you were driving. Police baraacaded a lot of streets downtown and peeps were going nowhere. It was so crazy. I am not even sure how ATL handled the Olympics, because this was the most people I have EVER seen there. You had to be there because words can't even describe it. On a better note, celebs WERE in full effect. |
i was chillin in my living room. :D i refused to go out in that mess. from the brief reports i heard to the radio this a.m., there were WAY more people in town than the city was expecting, more than the olympics if i heard correctly. soror mayor admitted that the city was not prepared.

I have heard parties at major clubs ranged from $100-$500 dollars with P. Diddy and Jermaine (King COckaroach) Dupri charging $500 and not honoring tickets sold in advance for less. And people were paying it to get in. |
I went to ATL this weekend and all I have to say is, fur coats were everywhere, in every style, and in every color. If you were a baller and/or shot-caller and/or trying to catch one, you had to have on a fur.

How are you gonna wear a fur coat with sneakers?
How are you gonna wear a fur coat over a sweat suit? How you gonna wear a fur coat with a doo-rag on your head? When did fur coats start coming with zippers? I was at the Sheraton party on Friday night. Phat booties everywhere. Are sistas really attracted to thugs? If you are going to pay $200 to get into a party, shouldn't you at least be wearing a pair of shoes? How do you rent a Suburban, H2 Hummer, Envoy, Limo or Escalade without a legitimate job or credit card? Since when does wearing a button-up silk shirt, crushed linen slacks, fresh haircut, neatly trimmed moustache and goatee mean that you have entered the wrong party? You know that you are under-dressed when you try and floss without a throwback NBA jersey and a two way. My people, my people....what would America be like without the humor and drama that the Negro sub-strata provides. |

What I truly could not believe, was that people were putting 22 inch rims, tinted windows, and sound systems in rented cars. How do you hook up some isht that ain't even yours? Who spends like $10,000 on stuff that is of no use to you? Once you take the car back, what are you going to do with the rims, hang them in your living room as a souvenir? |

King Cockaroach would have caught a royal beat down if I bought a ticket in ADVANCE and his oogly badoogly butt was holding out his hand for more money. 1savvydiva would have to get the thumper for his fool self.   |
I went and it was off the chain!!!!!
I'm sorry librasoul, but I am a BACK STREET DRIVER. I avoided everything, and got me and my GURLS, TO WHERE we wanted, and needed to go. We got the hook up in the club, cuz a friend of a friend of a friend, KNEW the owner. Needless to say, we all got our drank on that night. I saw, Allen "So fine" Iverson , walk into level 3. Too short was walking right in front of us in buckhead with two AMAZON LOOKIN CHICKS, that probably would've, stamped us to death with their 5 inch heels on. Lenox mall got "SHUT" DOWWWN! (sound like "west siiyde lmao) I can't believe some black folks STILL don't know how to act. I am so mad at whoever it was that stole those "fur coats from the mall, AND caused lenox to shut down. boooooo Libra, I did get sick of looking at those coats, I started to feel like i had to cough up hairballs for some reason. Glenwood was packed, for the pimp of the year/ playa's ball. AND IT WAS PEOPLE OUT THERE TAKING IT SERIOUSLY. I'm talking about pimps and hoe's (well people dressed up like them anyway) JUST ..STYLIN'!!!! The clubs were sky high, i'm talking 100.00-150.00 a pop. I was like, I'llllll be damned!!! I'll watch the celebrities walk their behinds out, before they get me to start spending my next month rents money. Ha!! But over all, I was a fun event. Lil bow wow was off the chain at the nba kids jam. (Overall it was a fun event for everyone in the family to go) (kinda like freak nik with clothes on. ) That's my scoop. |
