door decorations
Does anyone have any good ideas for door decorations for our new member class on bid day
|
When my pledge class went through. They made cut out Lions saying "Adrienne(or Phi's name) is a Phi Mu" and also a quatrofold out of the craft foam that that said my name, Phi Mu, plede classes name and semester/year
|
We have each sister make 5 and each member of the newest class make 10 and then divide them up to the teddy buddies to decorate the doors... its a good way to get different things and have A LOT of them!!!
Reminder though, tell people not to just print out things on their computer, that gets really old. When I was MOC I got mad at that! |
We got Hannahs yesterday!! If you don't know, Hannah is our mascot, and she looks similar to Raggedy Ann. Michaela, one of our CDCs and her mom (also a DG) made over 120 Hannahs all by themselves! And they are so CUTE! She's on my door now :)

We had big anchors with our names on them for our doors! For our newest Pi Alpha's we made cute little signs with lot's or streamers and glitter!! haha!

When I pledged...they made us cute little lions (Phi Mu) and then put our name on them.

Last semester they had a giant gold moon with three blue deltas on it, and then three silver stars which said "Tri Delta" "Welcomes," and then the new member's name on them, and they arranged these on our doors so they looked like our pin -- very cute. They also put up some blue and silver balloons, I think.

Generally, sisters would make door decorations for individual new members, rather than the sorority doing the same type of decoration for everyone. All the sororities did their decorations this way - so there was lots of variety.
I shared my freshman-year dorm room with 2 other women. We were all in different sororities - the door looked like Greek alphabet soup :p One of my roommates and I got cut-outs of our letters made from wrapping paper; my other roommate (a Theta) got a cut-out of a kite. |
When I pledge the local I was in we got door posters from the sorority with our name, letters, sorority symbols, and some words of encouragement (I believe! It was almost 10 years ago and I don't have the sign anymore!). We also gave mini-pumpkins with the sorority letters to the first semester freshmen who were interested in joining (deferred rush).
