Increase to ‘orange’ level reflects intelligence that al-Qaida is planning attack Feb. 7 — NBC’s Pete Williams reports on the Bush administration’s decision to raise its terrorist threat level. I have to agree. How convienent is the timing? Just another example of Bush playing on American's fears and emotions to gain political support for his war. Anyone notice how in Ashcroft's speech, he kept mentioning September 11 over and over again? What exactly is the purpose of issuing code alerts? Is it to excuse blame if something does happen? I refuse to believe that we are in any more danger at any given point in time than at another.

Interesting concept
Hmmmm. Y'all might be on to something here. Divert attention from the Shuttle explosion AND justify going to war with Iraq. How convenient.
