Charity Benefit Concert

Hey everybody,

Well I was thinking and I had a great idea for a Philantrophy project but I don't know how to quite pull it off. I was thinking about having a Charity Benefit Concert and invite either a bunch of local bands or some other known bands in GA. All the money would go to ALS(Lou Gehrig's Disease - Phi Delt's philantrophy). The only problem is that I do not know how to start it. If anybody knows how to start one or do one please contact me.

I don't know if your still interested in doing a muscial benefit, but it is a project that I have been currently working on in my chapter. We are having a Battle of the Bands contest where all of our proceeds will be going to the Ronald McDonald House. I started the project by brainstorming about a good location. Then I started making phone calls. Most places will probably willing to let you use their place for free since it's a charity event. I found a local club that was willing to let us use the place for free! Make sure you can tell the people as much information you can provide ( how long the event will last, number of bands,PR ideas etc.) Then I started finding bands by asking people if they knew anyone. The best way to find out the best local bands is to find a local search engine that will lead you to local band websites. I found a ton for my area. Most of the bands I have contacted have been really great. It's great exposure for the bands and most people are willing to participate in a charity event. Conact your local radio stations to see if they will give you some free promotions. We are also going to see if our local radio stations will play a song of our winning band on air.

I hope that some of this helps!
