New Look To GC!
 

Just wondering what everyone's impressions of the new GC look are?

Besides the Greek101 ad, I haven't notice much of a difference. Am I missing something?

So far the only thing I've noticed is that the screens don't seem to freeze when you are trying to write a post or pm! That was getting verrrrry annoying.

Will have to check if they allow you to search members!

You can also see who is browsing which forums at the top of each forum screen. Also on the main index screen, for the mods who do not log in with Invisible mode, our names are in bold. :)

Okay..the 2 things I noticed so far is at the top of each Forum, you can see you is looking at it...at least those with GC names. And you can finally do a search on Members alphabetically, date joined, etc.

I figured the bold names might be mods...

I noticed the greek101 ads (eh) and the fact that the page you're on has the larger [#] display.

I also noticed that the "top ten" from the home page is gone! The page looks kind of empty and bland now... :(

But yeah, it isn't freezing nearly as often now, though when it does, I get the "bad php error" screen instead of just blank white.

The program/script that made that work doesn't seem to be compatible with this upgraded version of the forum software. I'm going to see if I can get it working again this week.

If you don't mind, next time that "bad php error" screen comes up copy the error text & paste it into an email to john@greekchat.com so I can check it out. Maybe it's something that can be fixed. Thanks

Cool! I did notice the page numbers and the names at the top of the forums but I guess I didn't realize that it was part of a big change. The fact that GC isn't freezing on me all the time is awesome and I'm very excited about the member search working! Thanks for all your hard work, John! :)

I think it looks great! I'm not so big on the greek101 ad, but I'm guessing its there because they helped sponsor the upgraded software--in which case, I'm inclined to look upon them more charitably. ;)

John, kudos to you, and a big bunch of red and buff roses from the GC Alpha Gams!

I like the way you can find out who is in certain forums. I don't care for the Greek101 advertisement. But, if they are supporting Greekchat then I suppose that is alright.

I totally miss the Top 10!

I'm still waiting to see if we get free or discounted greek101 stuff like the Sorority Life girls.

I just got a response back from John about the missing Top 10 page....he said the new software doesn't work with the Top 10 scripts. He's working on it and hopes to have it back up in a few days!
