Gotta Love Legacies...

Am really hyped and wanted to share with ya'll.

When I was an undergraduate we had a really popular and funny brother in the chapter named Will. He had a younger brother that was 3 years behind him named Eric. When Eric got to college we tried really hard to recruit him. He wasnt interested at all. So we just kinda let it go. Well this weekend, I see Will in town visiting and he came out to a recruitment event, and brought Eric. Turns out Eric is now a junior and has decided to rush. Its so funny how we all thought Eric wouldda rushed about 4 years ago and wrote him off. *disclamer* "Should he be offered and accept a bid", hed be the third set of siblings in the chapter. Cool huh? Just kinda funny. Hes a great kid and "should he be offered and accept a bid" I'd be really pleased to see him in the chapter. Too cool.

I was just looking at baby clothes online for my little legacy. ;-) I think the website is www.greekbaby.com.

Okay, okay, so I'm only 18 and a freshman... but it's fun looking. :)_

XOXO,
Annie.

I think that's awesome -- bringing more members of a family into your bond just strengthens it. Congratulations!

Of course you guys should offer him a bid.
Sometimes when people go off to college, they want to make sure their grades won't be affected first. Even if he is a junior, he's seen what he's missing out on.

Chances are. . .that he wasnted to join last year but was afraid to ask you guys because he dissed you the first time around.

I'm a legacy! My mom is a DG. My grandmother is an Eastern Star (not a GLO, but cool anyway) - anyway, I'm a DG and I can only hope that one day I'll have a lil' legacy running around, but I won't force her into anything of course! We are a brand new chapter of DG so we have twins instead of Bigs and Lil's - and my twin is a legacy too! Woo hoo!

My grandmother is a Sigma Kappa from Georgetown College in Kentucky, which makes me a legacy of Sigma Kappa. Of course, I'm an Alpha Phi, which makes my little sister (who has started looking at colleges) a legacy twice over. Yeay for legacies!

My sisters, ages 11 and 14, know they MUST choose a college with a Zeta chaper or face the wrath of me :) The day they saw the list of collegiate chapters their eyes got big, "We have so many options!"

I do feel bad tho in some ways for her, bc she will probably be going to a lagre school and I'm at a small northern school so I won't be able to help her much with the whole recruitment process except to say good luck!

I'm going to be in trouble when my little sister, now a freshman in hs, gets to college. First I'll be pushing ging through sorority recruitment. Then I'll have to duct tape my mouth shut so I don't start trying to push the local Kappa chapter on her.

I'd be neat to have her know Kappa's ritual as well. I guess a different group would give us even more to talk about, though.

We have had several sets of sisters in my chapter. It's pretty cool. Unfortunately, neither of my sisters pledged.:(

I'm a first generation college student (my dad joined the army during Vietnam and my parents got married as soon as he came home) so I wasn't a legacy to anything, but my little sister who'll be five on Thursday will be. She'll probably be a SigEp girl too since all the guys at the local chapter love her already and she runs around in my Sig Ep shirts all the time. It'll be great to be there for her when she finally gets to experience it all. Even though I'll be like 33 then.

Sounds like he'll be an asset..."should he be offered and accept a bid" ;)

My daughters will be DZ's. That's all there is to it. Despite (as CutiePie2000 well knows) daughter number one's fascination with anchors and pink and blue and daughter number two's coming right out and telling my best friend that she wants to be a Chi O when she grows up!

I'd love to see one (all) of my three darlings (8. 5. 2 yoa) go Alpha Chi Omega! But if it does not fit for them at whatever school they end up at, then I hope they will at least join the Greek system through some other wonderful NPC organization! I think we all have wonderful groups, and I just hope they choose to participate in the joys of the greek experience!

I think I'm an ASA legacy cause my older sister is an Alpha Sig. (I think that's right... ) The only problem is that Alpha Sig lost their charter at my campus my freshman year a month before rush. I was interested in joining but since they lost their charter, I couldn't. They're an alumnae association now and I thought about joining as an alum but I'm afraid I would miss out on what sorority life has to offer while you are in college. So that sucks.... but it's soooo cute to think of all the little legacies out there wearing their mother's or sister's letters and dreaming of the day they can join a sorority too!!!!! :)
