No Way! Interests and Dealbreakers

Are there any traits or actions that would cause you, as an individual, to automatically give the thumbs-down to a person interested in your organization?

Now I don't mean "official" dealbreakers like failure to have the required GPA or number of credits ...

What if, hypothetically speaking, you received correspondence from an interest which had been cc'd to a high-ranking member of your organization, someone this person probably would have no contact with until he/she became a member?

What other actions would have you at least shaking your head?

Hey Soror...

First of all,

A thunderous ZZZZPhiii to my soror, BabyBlue from Jersey. I live not too far, we should hook up sometime:

Secondly,

I would start watching the person from the informational and take it from there. If the interest has something like her cell phone ringing with no explanation, that would be a definite turn off for me.

Another aspect would be after the informational, I would figure out if this person has made an attempt to even say, "Hi, my name is _______, I am from _______". Trust me, saying something makes all the difference.

What bothers you more that he/she cc a high ranking frat/soror or that he/she did not come to any of the frat/sorors in the chapter first?

Personally, I would wonder where this person head is. Now, running to Nationals before you join any organization does not make any sense. Prospects can called Nationals, but to write and correspond without going to the local chapter does not make much sense.

I would asked him in the proper time why he/she did not asked the local chapter or graduate chapter his questions. Apparently, he/she might have felt that some frats/sorors will not be truthful to him. That brings up another question. If you enter a chapter with doubts, you may carry that with you for the rest of your frat/soror life. In that case, it would be best to enter the Blue and White light through another chapter you trust more.
