This weekend, Atlanta will host the 2002 Cheersport National Cheerleading and Dance Competition for young kids - teens (I don't know the ages).

My niece's team is from Athens so of course they are the United Cheerleading Diva Dogs (as in Bulldawgs, not ugly! lol)

She cheers Sat. night at 8 and Sun. at 10! Thankfully, all scores will be posted on the website so you can keep track of teams from your area...but be sure you know the team's exact name and what category...like Senior Small Advanced!:D There are over 700 teams.

Good luck to all the teams, parents and coaches! It takes a lot of bravery and nerves!!:D

Cheerleading...Its a tough sport when its competitive. I did it for 4 years. But now i coach the cheerleaders at my high school during the summer and when i come home and this year our J/V squad made it to nationals so they are going to Disneyland in march for the compettition. So good luck to them and any other squads competing.

Good luck to your squad, Lynn! BlazerCheer and the VSU squad will be going to nationals in Florida this spring. They were pre-rated sixth in the nation.

Well, niece's team didn't too good last night. They dropped a couple people -- one hurt her ankle. They cheer later tonight.

I think they will be going to Jacksonville instead of Disney this time.

I wish I had my camera. Hundreds of young ladies with their hair in Shirley Temple ringlets in a ponytail. Some had these "bunwarmer" thingings on their head...reminds me of when you get a jar of fruit/jelly in a basket. ;) :D

Oh well,they're still braver and more atheletic than I am, lol!

Carnation, which nationals are they going to? Cheersport?

All I know is that they're in Daytona!

Those curly ponytails. Ick! Have you ever tried to curl long, thick, coarse Japanese hair into those? Impossible!
