Plastic Surgery

Hi all,
I'm having plastic surgery next month (it's more reconstrctive, not vanity related), but it's going to be complicated. ANYWAY, has anyone else here had plastic surgery? Can you let me know about your experience? Was the recovery painful? If you wanna PM me privately, please do.........

One of my sisters had a nose job last year. She said it wasn't as bad as she thought it was going to be and her nose looks great!!

QUESTION

Since there's already a thread started on this I was wondering who all has contemplated having plastic surgery. I've been thinking about it lately but I'm not sure if I want to do it or not. I'd either do liposuction or have breast implants.

Any one else thought about doing it or done it?

If I had the money I get a tummy tuck.

I've seen breast implants seem to make the difference in women getting jobs. Sad but true.

I'm getting a face lift after I turn 30- guarenteed.

I considered a breast reduction... but I had a friend who said it was REALLY painful.

I've considered a reduction, too. I actually have two friends that have had one. Both said it was painful for maybe a week or two, but both were SO happy to have it done.

I would really like to get a nose job. In fact, I was just looking in the mirror last night before bed and was thinking how I would like for my new nose to look. Other than that, I have no desire to have anything else worked on.

I am planning on having breast enhancement surgery within the next 2 years. Due to my eating disorder I had a stunted puberty and never developed, so I consider it less of cosmetic (though it is) and more of a "correction".

On the topic, but off the particular subject...
Is anyone watching that Extreme Makeover show on ABC?

Everyone I've talked to has said that the pain post-surgery was worth it compared to the pain of having breasts larger than your frame can really handle, not to mention the back pain that sometimes results from that.

I used to want a nose job when I was little, before I grew into my face. Now it's not a big deal. If I get any taller, I'd get implants, but I don't think (based on the women in my family) that I'll need a face lift until at least 50.

I've thought about breast enlargement but I don't have the money and my parents would probably disown me. They're really conservative so I don't think they'd agree with me getting it done. Plus, it would purely for cosmetic reason so I don't know if I want to go through the pain and risks of surgery just for cosmetic reasons.
But I am certainly not at all opposed to maybe a tummy tuck after I have children or a breast lift. :)

I am a complete dork, but my first plastic surgery is going to be to have my ears pinned back. They aren't big, but I have too much cartilege behind my ears so they kind of stick out instead of lay back against my head. The good thing is, I have stereo hearing from the front, but I've been accused of messing up the tv reception (LOL). I just want to be able to get cute short hair cuts w/o worrying about my stupid ears sticking out like antennae.

After that, I'm all about lip and tummy tuck.

My cousin shaun just had his ears pinned back a few months ago. I guess the surgery wasn't all that expensive (infact I think insurance covered it - look into it). Either way, he said it was only painful for the few days following the surgery. The result was well worth it I think, it made quite an improvement.

I don't think that I would ever have plastic surgery, but I certainly wouldn't hold it against anybody who did. The only thing I would possibly consider is breast reduction, but really the best way for me to get the girls to be a little smaller is to lose a few pounds.

As for facelifts -- maybe my story will change when I get older, but I don't think I would ever do it. Granted, people say I look a lot younger than I am and my mom looks great for her age, but when I do end up getting a wrinkle or two, I want to show them off with pride. I don't think there's anything wrong with getting older, and as long as you take care of yourself and stay out of the sun, you can be beautiful just as you are. :)
