Showdown Iraq
I just wanted to know waht everyone thought of the "possible" war with Iraq. Do you think there could be a better way to deal with the situation? I think that yes the people of Iraq need to be liberated, but they have to first try and help thenselves internally. What good is liberating a country when there could be another tyrant that gets put back into office. I spent one summer (2002) in Kuwait and God knows I don't want to go back. I know first hand that some countries do not want us, the U.S, in their affairs. They do not care if we were over there trying to help them. Also, I want to know what make the situation in iraq so different from the one in korea??? Aren't weapons of mass distruction the same no matter what country????

Isn't Kuwait the country where the government pays the citizens? What could be so bad about-- as long as you are not Filipino.
We are after Iraq's oil, which is not a bad thing. Think about it, if gas was 14 cents a gallon all of a sudden, would anyone complain? Also, ALL countries want the US in their affairs, no matter what they say. We are more forgving of loans than the WTO or the IMF. Even if they pretend like they can go it alone, almost every country will send a whole heap of "diplomats" (well-dressed beggars) to ask for money. Now, if it is a crime to keep an eye on your money, then arrest me too. As for Korea, even though I am too young to remember, I'll have to say that we don't want it with Korea because they laid the smackdown on us before, and NO ONE is going to fight a war to protect the freedom of draft-dodging politicians in DC. I think we can whup Iraq. Also, I think we need to get to it already. All of this delaying makes us seem less sure of our position and I think that this is a downer for military confidence. I say we stop the war of words and get to the kickin' a$$ and taking names part. |
George W. is just trying to finish what his father couldn't do during the Persian Gulf War and unfortunately he will probably get a lot of young people killed in the process. He really needs to concentrate on finding Bin Laden, the other leaders of Al Qaeda, Taliban, Hamas, and any other terrorist group. And the new Home Front Security Agency needs to deal with the many terrorist cells in the United States. Let's just say that I'm reading this book called "American Jihad: The Terrorist Living Among Us" by Steven Emerson and it really is an eye opener.
Furthermore, George W. and and many members of the GOP (Grand Old Party) want to take on all of the evils of the world for their own political gain and we; innocent Americans and innocent Near East Asians; are going to suffer for what the dominant group plans to implement. Serioussigma22:cool: |
